I've just taken a look through the QF website, and I can't find a reference to it opening 3hrs before.Website clearly states int checkin opens 3 hours before.

Where were you flying to??
Maybe its an enhancement to give you more time with the friends and family before the Flounge seduction begins.
Flying to NRT (QF21).
Actually I think I'm wrong, I was thinking of boarding time for some reason which is 21:10
Actual flight is at 21:55, so I guess when they opened it at 19:00 they were correct.
So QF opening at 1900 would be 3hrs before departure - the coughs!!! QF do get things wrong from time to time, to which they admit. However lets not get on the internet each and everytime for every issue, particularly without checking facts first

Just found out that QP doesn't "priority tag" anymore on international. When they brought in the enhancements last year, I thought it was just for domestic that they took it away. Oh well, at least I just had a nice bowl of $400 pumpkin soup![]()
Never had priority on International from what i know? Only Business and First.
Hmmmm ... OLCI and carry-on only does the trick for moi![]()

But, if you are using dom->int->int - and any sector is NOT operated by QF, you should insist on a biz tag.
QP always got priority tags on both Dom and Int.
Unless it's the last sector - other airlines don't seem to care about a QF Priority tag, even the OW affiliates, and agree with above comments, that even with Qantas it's pretty hit and miss.
No they didn't...it was domestic only. I still have an old (1997 vintage) QC booklet which states this.
