I could never understand why QF stopped JNB - PER flights on their own rights, given the huge number of South Africans visiting / migrating to Perth. They used to do HRE - PER - SYD back in the 1990's with their 744's, so I can see no reason why JNB - PER - SYD or JNB - PER - MEL couldn't be operated (VA's failure with MEL was the 777's longer flying time after all).
Qantas' 744 Would be far better than 9 hours in SAA 343 in Y with no AVOD that's for sure!
What other routes would you like to see QF flying?
