Hi,

Just wondering if I can get access to QF First lounge in Sydney as I am flying J with CX next Tuesday.

Will have a client traveling with me (he will also be in J)

Thanks in advance

Forgot to mention that I am Platinum

Also why does everyone refer to WP? What does this mean?

WP= Wan*er Platinum.

You and one guest will be able to enter the F Lounge.

Thanks.

Actually I am surprised as I thought that you had to fly on Qantas to access the first lounge if you were not flying first??

You need to be travelling on QF, JQ or other oneworld metal and flight number with an appropriate shiny card for access to the FLounge.

And Air Pacific it seems, our tickets were purchased on Qantas but the boarding passes only showed Air Pacific flight numbers.

To the best of my knowledge - FJ flights only gain access if they are purchased with the QF flight number. I can't find it at the moment, but I recall a thread here just recently where someone found out the hard way that a FJ flight number doesn't cut the mustard.

notzac,

I'll support that. ie QF flight number F lounge access. :D FJ flight number NO F lounge access. :(

We have been down the road a few times here and I asked it as I possibly have a FJ flight in November.

Defo need a QF flight number. I am SG but last year on a group trip to Fiji there were several WP's on FJ flight numbers. They ended up in the QP with us mere mortals.

See this thread: http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/com...gram/air-pacific-points-scs-lounge-21962.html

And for recent positive experience: Syd F Lounge Access on QF/EY codeshare for Plat - FlyerTalk Forums

An finally, it is written (definitively):

So, from the published rules, the use of QF code on EY metal is no problem for getting into the Flounge. Perhaps "Scott" should check the published rules.

So unless you get a reprint from the Sydney First check in desk this boarding pass would not have got you into the First lounge in Sydney.

We had trouble last year getting into QF first lounge on a ticketed AP flight. Guy at the door said no, even though the ticket was purchased from the Qantas site and it was codeshared.

Anyway a nice letter to Qantas was followed up a few weeks later by a phone call to me saying that next time I was passing through I could get two guests in which was good timing as I was passing through a few days later with two guests.

sorry to drag up an old thread....

What if me, as a platinum is booked on the QF Codeshare to FJ and my travelling partner is booked on the FJ# - we're on the same flight but not the same flight# ... would that cut it to get them into Flounge?

You can only try ... tell us what happens ...

Well, if the rules are:

Must be travelling onwards that day on a Qantas, British Airways, Jetstar or oneworld flight number.#
One guest allowed and must be travelling with the member.

I would think you've got a relatively good case to put to them. 'Travelling with' is ambiguous enough, though they seem to enforce it as meaning 'taking the next onward flight with you'. However, while you're required to be on a QF flight number, there's no explicit corresponding requirement of the guest.

It'll be dicey, but hold your ground and give it a go! You can always fall back on the old 'how dare you take away my anytime access and now this!' DYKWIA routine. :p

Hi.

I was able to take my +1 into the FLounge on the same flight. I was booked QF +1 was booked FJ. We were both in J but I don't think that made any difference.

Interesting... this will be in Y

The only reason there would be a FJ# is because revenue and ASA tickets book on the QF#, while classic redeptions never go on codeshares, making it impossible to get onto the QF#.

FJ is cheaper than QF on many dates for normal fares, with the current pricing Fiji is poor value for redemptions.
