QF9 QF10 between MEL and PER are Back

I checked a random date in January, QF255 exists. QF33 was year round was it not, why would they cut the temp replacement?
The Paris flight was switch back to being QF33 on the SYD-PER-CDG routing from the end of October. This is no longer the case and the flight will continue to operate as QF255 SYD-SIN-CDG.

QF5/6 is the seasonal one (to Rome), that ends in Oct.
Sorry my bad, wrong information!

It does indeed still run through Northern Winter 2026 thrice a week as it does now.

Think its going back to basics, ie, just put all the Aus dom QF flights to be 737s/220s/321s...
Saves them $, and they dont need to use the high lifters for the freight.
With the small single aisled planes, they can use the slop ramp to put things into and out of the cargo hold.
No shrink wrapping, no need to have that cube thing.
Faster on, faster off.

It’s bizarre given the European travel demand. They might be repositioning to the US

The European demand out of Australia is highly seasonal - LHR does fine year round but CDG struggles in the winter.

Presumably that's partly due to the greater number of British migrants in Australia compared to Frenchmen.

I'm looking at PER > MEL on May 7th, looks like there's an A330 service (that may get subbed) and then QF10 after that.

Can WP still select PE seating for free when flying economy? When I go to book it only shows Y seating.

Dont believe that, if you ever see that service routing as a 330.
They changed it on me, had hotel bookings, so had to accept the swapped 737.
Wanted the last (my last hurrah on the 330 before they retire it), had paid for J, and then got the dreaded email, sorry, you are on the 737, not in those words, but similar.
Also, my PER - SYD, for Jan 2027, I had booked to try the 787, then they swap, I changed it to a 330, and then they now have put in a 321neo onto my flight.
Even QF9/QF10, with the 787, they can swap it, or put you onto a 737 to connect with the 787 at PER to SIN, or if the Iran situation has settled by then, they might fly PER -> LHR direct.
With them now putting lots of the 220./321neo etc, I dont hold a lot of hope for getting the 330 (maybe 1% chance they would keep it).
Am now going to use AirNZ for my flights, yes, I know they can change the 787 to a 777, but at least its still a wide body.
As there isnt a premY on their planes, most likely, you will seated in Y, unless they upgrade you to a subbed 737 J
If that plane you are looking at is the leased AY, then that one has a premY, but not sure if its the one doing your 07 May hopeful.
QF 330s, do not have premY cabins.

Ah, Just had look, yep, looks like its the AY leased 330.
Maybe premY is not sold on that sector.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of QF fans along to assure you that you are wrong to expect a wide body, and that narrow bodies are normal for domestic flights i every other country,

The answer to my question is probably no, since they specifically sell PE on this route. (At almost $400 more than J 😂)
