Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Just a heads up for those of us on tighter budgets JD Cellars has Two Sisters Shiraz 2021 normal RRP $50 for $14.95 as Secret Wine # 1375. I've fired off an order for a case of six (never heard of the winery or products so a little bit cautious although Vivino scores 4.2 across vintages) cheers, dears...
$14.75 at Skye, but a 12 pack. Skye Cellars
I bought a dozen a while back (June), $150/12 with a code, tried one bottle only, it was about the most acidic red wine I've ever tried, couldn't' t drink it, even with food. Sent it back for a full refund.

I thiunk the HRB Shiraz 2021 at $10 ($9.50 in a dozen) at TWC is a better option

Bugger! I should have posted a query rather than an order. I did as much due diligence as I could on a somewhat obscure label and everyone in their reviews was banging on about how rich and jammy this particular wine was, I've just attempted to cancel the order but JD can be an interesting mob to deal with...🫤

Yeah, the reviews looked good and I didn't try a second bottle, so could be an isolated bottling issue. But Skye didn't quibble at paying for the return and a full 12 bottle refund and dropped the price to $12.95 for a while. I'm a little sensitive to prominent acid, but this was definitely the most acidic red I've seen since some mid 70's Taminick Cellars Shiraz that after a few years resembled red coloured battery acid and effectively cleaned the drains.

Thanks for the reassurance RB, My previous order was a return and I was taken aback that they agreed that the wine wasn’t up to scratch (JD himself described the wine as “corked” despite the stelvin closure😆). It made a reasonably acceptable cooking wine, plenty of coq au vin in our household for the next six months!
Just relieved that they have accepted the cancellation as the lovely Helena can be a bit of a dragon to deal with in my experience…
