Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF29 Mel-Hkg

Pretty good flight, crew, service and food. We left on time. The team had drinks to us pretty much straight away. Nice service flow. The burrata and tofu green curry were great. Very generous wine pours as well. No shortage of crackers on the cheese plate either.

I’m now sitting in the HK lounge which makes the Melbourne dungeon look very dismal.

Afternoon snack flight, choice between antipasto plate - which looked quite good, but had run out by row 2 - or a beef sausage roll.

The latter was… err… rather ‘interesting’. I couldn’t work out why but when i got home realised it tasted just like a beef pie! And you except a beef pie to taste like a beef pie, not a sausage roll! 😳

Goat's cheese and leek tart + cherry danish. Not bad, the fresh herbs on the tart made the dish.

A bit of a comedy of errors - when the breakfast orders were being taken, I asked if I could pre-order the vegetarian main for lunch as they'd run out of the veg option on my flight to Tokyo. The cabin crew member assured me they would put one aside for me. Later a different crew member came around to take lunch orders and didn't seem to have a record of my previous request, so I re-ordered the veg option. Later still, as the mains were being served, a third crew member regretted to inform me there had been a mistake and only 2 vegetarian mains had been loaded instead of 3 so they had run out. They were extremely apologetic and offered me this option instead, some sort of creamy thyme gnocchi with beans and mushroom, as well as frequent flyer points as compensation for the mistake.
Food was looking unusually excellent until your random main course for lunch... but sounds like a decent service recovery.

HBA-SYD 11:25 flight. A220 QFLink.

Two brunch options. A pumpkin and halloumi quiche with beans, or a sweet potato, corn and mushroom frittata with spinach and bacon.

I went for the latter.

While a little disappointed (though unsurprised) to not get lunch on this flight, it was a good dish. The frittata was very tasty and full of mushrooms. Bacon tasty but far too thin and a bit fatty.

Fig tart on the side a welcome change and pretty tasty as well.

Good service from CSM Julia and crew.

I have done that quite a few times. I even made a post on AFF about how I take my own Aldi Goats Cheese and sourdough bread onboard :)
The goats cheese from ALDI is way better than that boring dry run-of-the-mill cheddar which Qantas tends to serve as a “premium” offering on their Domestic flights!
