The Velocity Status Run Master thread

I read it only applying to packages to Bali or the Gold Coast.

I don't see anything in the 2x Status Credits offer T&Cs which would indicate that:

*Virgin Australia Holidays 2x Status Credits Offer Terms and Conditions
During the promotional period of 12:01 am AEST 16 March 2026 until 11:59 pm AEST 23 March 2026 (“Offer Period”), Velocity members will earn Double Status Credits on the Virgin Australia Domestic and/or Virgin Australia International short-haul and Trans-Tasman flight components of an eligible Virgin Australia Holidays booking made with Hopper at https://www.virginaustralia.com/au-en/holidays, for travel between 15 April and 16 December 2026 (“Offer”). This is in addition to the standard base Status Credits earn on the fare type originally booked (i.e. Choice or Business) and the number of miles flown as part of the Virgin Australia Domestic and/or Virgin Australia International short-haul and Trans-Tasman flight forming part of the eligible booking.

Status Credits earned from Virgin Australia Domestic and/or Virgin Australia International short-haul and Trans-Tasman flights, including the double Status Credits under this Offer, are typically allocated within 2-3 days of completed travel, but timing may vary. All Velocity Members named on an eligible booking may be eligible to earn Status Credits for the booking, including the bonus Status Credits under this Offer, if they have submitted their valid Velocity Member number at the time of booking, or by contacting Virgin Australia prior to check-in. Status Credits are not awarded on any cancelled or un-flown bookings.

Virgin Australia Holiday packages booked via https://www.virginaustralia.com/au-en/holidays are provided by Hopper and all bookings made through this platform are subject to the Virgin Australia Holidays Terms and Conditions.

Velocity Frequent Flyer may vary or end this offer at any time.

I know what you mean and that was my initial thought. Again, VA and VA Holidays are not the best in clarity with the first read and how ones attention is first "grabbed" where the page pop up does seem to draw attention to Bali and the Gold Coast.

As an Accor member, whereby I book my hotels directly via Accor website/mobile (and get a ShopBack cash-back), I can't use the VA Holdaiys site, as that's considered a 3rd party booking, so no points or nighst are earned, and Accor status benefits can't be applied too. :(

Live a little....look beyond Accor if you fancy VA status points... They won't be going away....
Just booked for Melbourne on an overnighter end of July to see a play while J fares are on sale. Let's see if I get my 220 160 SC so I can maintain Gold for 2027-2028 ...
And with a purpose. .. excellent. 😁

Tempted to do the same for another play in Brisbane in June. Like with MiRaNtZ, I'm sacrificing elite qualifying nights with IHG, but unlike Melbourne, I did find an IHG hotel I could stay at and see whether they might give any benefits despite the third party booking. If not, no big deal; this offer will save way more money towards maintaining Gold than a $30-$40 breakfast (and I should be able to wrangle the remaining 80 SC by May 2027)

I did get "non qualifying points" base and elite bonus and some other benefits when I stayed at Indigo hotel in NZ after it being booked through third party. So you never know.
