Virgin Australia UpgradeMe pricing and success

For PER-ADL VA716 on 19 March I just got outbid email at $65 (for 2x pax). I’m upgrading from a Reward Economy booking for 2, as platinum (so already have free economy X seating).

It reckoned highest bid was $94, bumped mine to $101.

Not sure how to check how many seats are available in Business though. If I go to book a business seat on same flight it says “2 left at this price”, but obviously could be more left at higher prices!
Continue with booking till you get to choose your seats. That's a fair indication.

Otherwise seats maps offer another avenue to check.

J2 - all other fare buckets are zero.

@Talorc - you could ask the question on the dedicated thread for such:

Success this morning CBR - BNE. Min bid was $65 and I placed $70. 3 seats empty.

As a lofty velocity Red member on an employer paid reward seat(!) the early morning lounge access, short snooze and quick escape with hand luggage only was a great start to the day.

VA871 MEL - SYD last week. I bid $65 against a minimum bid of $55. Received confirmation that bid was successful around 12hrs from making it.

Thank you all, and for the link to the help desk thread. I figured it out on expert flyer as well and can see J2.

I wonder if the little icons on the plus grade systems indicate how much interest there is in the bidding process
