USA ESTA

Thanks. I couldn't remember from 2019. Started second guessing I'd answered something wrongly. I did do a first search here which tended to suggest it was almost immediate. Their warning 'not necessarily negative' is not the least bit reassuring.
Please let us know when it comes through.

You had me worried there for a minute. I need to do mine end of April (want to wait until the current ones expires) and am so paranoid given the current circumstances their.
Indeed. We've also travelled to Saudi Arabia, Israel and Palestine on this passport so was just wondering.....

I have another question about applying for a USA tourist visa. I have an interview booked in at the consulate however i need to travel overseas (not to the USA) two days after the interview.

At the interview if you are approved do you have to leave your passport there?

I have also used up my three appointment changes so if i have to leave the passport then im screwed and will have to cancel, reapply, pay the outrageous fee again, and try and get an appointment that works.

I can only comment based on my experience in 2018 at the Perth US Consulate.

As I had visited Iran, Sudan and Cuba since the last of my many previous ESTA-based US entries, I applied for a visa.

Fronted the consulate. I certainly had to leave my passport for them to affix the visa. IIRC, I was told 1-2 days wait.

No sooner had I got home about an hour or two later I get a SMS saying it was ready to collect.

John thanks for your reply.

This is not an Australian passport. I think it is too risky as we will be flying out 48 hours after the US consulate interview.

I might call them to see if it is possible to do the interview, not leave the passport, and drop the passport in the following week. Has anyone done this?

Good morning everyone,
Just want to know if the application, approval time, and questions on the ESTA application form has changed recently ? (For example, is it still optional to provide your social media account names)

I am asking as i am thinking of renewing my Australian passport (My current passport has an ESTA, which i successfully applied for 7 months ago, for an April trip to the US)

Background Story :
Main reason for thinking of renewing the current passport is because it is blocked for being used for ID verification purposes by the Credential Protection Registry(CPR) I suspect the block was applied because of a data breach.
(I can still use the current passport for travelling, and it still has 1.5 years of validity left)

The Passport Office requested CPR to unblock my current passport yesterday. Now awaiting a response from CPR.
