What cheeses me off

The A220 (and newer aircraft generally) now permit roller bags to be stored on their short side rather than "flat" on their length.
Yet, people still store them on their length, occupying much more space than needed.
That's good to know. On the first flight on the A220 I put our cases into the bins on edge, as I noticed they were deep enough, but the cabin crew flipped them over. You certainly get more in on edge.

Phone zombies. Im so sick to death of seeing them everywhere with their face in their phone and not a single thought about the road or driveway they are crossing. They cant even go from a business and 30mtrs away to their car without walking with their phone in their face

Its been a rough and busy errand day today and Im so fed up with them

Trying to buy MrsP a women's watch. We prefer Seiko but expensive, but with sales now on makes the brand a consideration. WCMO is trying to find a store that has any reasonable stock to view. No-one carries a range anymore.

Don't own any Apple products. Are they independent? How long is battery life?

No apples watches only useful if you an apple user.

Smart watches generally need to be charged every 3-5 days depending on usage.

There are plenty of Android options for those who aren't a fan of the fruit phones - you can have a live pairing with your phone (drains battery more) but if you just want to sync health data and appointments, can sync over Bluetooth once every few days (drains battery far less).

Smart watches a lot bulkier than your old digital/analogue watches; as to whether more useful depends on whether you will use functions.

Anyone own a WITHINGS hybrid watch? 35 days battery life.

I don't really care what brand older folks buy, but it should mirror the competency of the fall alarm feature of the apple.
The short battery life of an apple watch can be a pita , but in our world the watch melds seamlessly with our other devices

From Google: Several major smartwatch and medical alert brands offer fall detection, including Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Google Pixel Watch, and various medical alert systems like Bay Alarm Medical and Medical Guardian. These watches use sensors like accelerometers and gyroscopes to detect hard falls and can automatically contact emergency services and emergency contacts.

In Android world you don't need to have a pixel phone or Samsung phone to pair with their watches, any reasonably current android should work.

For the alarm to contact emergency services or a loved one, you would either need one that has its own e-sim (usually an add-on to your mobile account) so can call direct from the watch or have it constantly paired with your phone usually via Bluetooth. Having Bluetooth on all the time will increase frequency with which you need to charge the watch.

Lots of galaxy and pixel watches on black friday sales atm; if you are happy to not have this years model they re relatively cheap.

I easily get 4 days from 1 charge of my Samsung Galaxy Watch, but i have mine set so the screen goes off after a few secs and I tap to have it light up again. this saves a lot of juice, as does not having Bluetooth running all the time.

Qantas used to have some good deals on Seiko in the marketplace , and usually some great points offers at this time of the year. Current seiko is from Qantas in 2012, had an issue in 2017 and qantas confirmed warranty and repair was at Toowong in a matter of days. Always enjoyed checking out the various watch vendors near Sim Lim/Bugis shopping centres in Sin.

On another note, WCMO, popped into the local tavern tonight to avoid a storm and possible hail damage to the Everest. $15 schnitzel and $10 pint seemed a good deal, 45 minutes later meal arrived with lumpy gravy and overcooked/burnt chips. Care factor zero from the staff and had to chase the beer. Should have cooked at home, better result even after a few pints.
