Lesson learned: when flying low-cost, follow the rules. There is no such thing as "nah, you'll be alright".

Frankly, that’s still well worth submitting a complaint. Very poor form from JQ.

AusPost yet again. Letter posted in Adelaide last Wednesday (with tracking - has sim card).

Delivery estimate Monday 17th - yesterday.

So far according to tracking hasn’t left Adelaide yet.

Queried AusPost - refuse to even discuss delivery unless not delivered before Dec 2nd.



Ive ordered parts from China and shoes from the US delivered faster than a letter from Adelaide.

It's too hard or I'm too useless in these matters, and the little chain gets blunt so quickly even though it is auto lubricated by tree safe oil.

Exactly my situation. The cutting head of my extended-pole trimmer (not chainsaw) is too heavy to cut evenly along the top and esp in the middle where you can't see it. Arthritic hands don't help.

Local garden guy does it, and sides for $160, split between neighbour and me.

Royal Mail lost something I sent once, it was scanned at my outgoing post office then never to be seen again......... that took 4 months for me to get compensated for, as it was insured.

WCMO: At a lengthy appointment today. There are smart parking meters in the street. I pull in and select and pay for parking 0918-1305. Realising that the meeting is going to carry on a bit longer I return to the car at 1218 and extend parking from 1305 to 1410.
When I return to the car at 1353 there is a parking fine under the wiper. The notice indicates they checked the car at 1305 ( I was still covered at this time under the initial time at this time) and fine issued at 1307.
So I have to download receipts for payment showing I've paid until 1410 and I take a photo of the meter showing contiguous payment 0918 - 1410. I have submitted a "review request" and reasons and evidence. I don't work so I did have it in mind to turn up to court and show them up for fools.

The penalty notice itself would get thrown out in court because my initial payment was until 1305 and the penalty states times between 1.04 and 1.04PM
Anyway, I am really CO'd.

Turns out the instructions on the meter LCD screen (yellow text on a light green background) tell you to enter the car registration. I entered the bay number in which I parked as the bay numbers are clearly marked on the gutter alngside each marked parking bay. Logical, right? You can see it in the first image "GIO90". This is strictly verboten.

should apply in this instance.
We acknowledge your comments indicating you paid for parking, however it appears you have
entered the wrong registration which has contributed to this offence.

Please be mindful in the future to enter the correct vehicle registration, as similar leniency is
unlikely to be offered.
You are not required to pay the fine

My rego is very easy to remember these days but I always randomly remembered those in the past. This type of parking meter is in use around Adelaide. Surprising the number of people who go to pay then have to cancel and return to their car for their rego number.

I've been tripped up more than a few times when having a hire car and not knowing the rego number, and having to go back and check. Yes, I know it's on the key tag but if I don't have my reading glasses on me then that's no good.

Was just about to head into town to do the Life in the UK test ..... and noted that of all items, even wristwatches are not allowed to be taken in. Digital ones, I could understand, but analogue? There's no way I'm leaving it in a locker (even though the watch is insured), so I think I shall be leaving that one at home instead. Silly.

I went to the cinema last night with my best friend and her daughter to watch Wicked: For Good being a new release the cinema was pretty much full.

Seated to my right, across the aisle a couple of rows in front were a group of about 10 girls, Id estimate aged 16-18 years old. They would have had to be the most excitable (and clueless) people I have ever ear witnessed at a movie.

WCMO was their utter disrespect for other patrons trying to enjoy movie due to their unnecessary running commentary including "omg he going to have sex" which you knew in PG movie would never be shown just because a character took his jacket off; screams of disbelief when a house fell on the Wicked Witch of the East (hardly a spoiler since the Wizard of Oz came out 86 years ago, and is assumed knowledge for Wicked universe) and the constant over reactions at nothing and eewing at poignant quiet moments. Then the weird clapping at the end (only time Ive ever witnessed clapping in a movie before was in the USA - the actors cant hear you, clapping is for live performances).

Laugh or cry, gasp if you must but those managing to follow the very simple plot dont want to hear your dumb questions (you could whisper in your friends ear not shout it to the world) nor your live streamed opinions.

LOL - although I saw "The Lovers" at the Theatre Royal a couple of weeks ago and that is a musical version of a A Midsummers Night Dream.

I remember going to see Much Ado About Nothing years ago, and the older ladies seated in front of us were madly reading the cliff notes (those cheat guides they make for students) to ensure they would be able to follow along before the curtain was raised and again at intermission.

Was written by an Australian, very pop - a blend of new custom written songs and actual Shakespeare dialogue. It was ok, reminiscent of Six (if you have seen that) but not a sound track Id buy.

The A220 (and newer aircraft generally) now permit roller bags to be stored on their short side rather than "flat" on their length.

Yet, people still store them on their length, occupying much more space than needed.

I tell you, the <insert word here that isn't complimentary>s in the J cabin here don't have two cells between them about this, and/or just <insert expletive here> lazy.

Also, the moron next to me seems to be annoyed that (a) I know how to stow a bag correctly, but more annoyingly, (b) I have the nerve to ask him to get up so I can get to my window seat.......

We had a tricky one. Qantas had put a wheelchair passenger in the aisle seat. Both middle and me at the window seat had no choice but to climb onto the arm rests to get over her as she also was very large. If that happened now I'd flat out refuse. I simply couldn't do it. Likely get me kicked off though.

And in my head I was thinking of my escape path should the plane require evacuation.
