You must be really unlucky, or I must be really lucky, or both, because numerous times I have asked for the steak sandwich at a time outside of "meal time" and have received it.

Never had anyone from QF ring/contact me about any of the above.

All prior to the Rona

My only experience thus far on QF F was just as Rona was kicking off in the US (March 2020). Received the phone call from a First host, who confirmed advised/confirmed all the items discussed by others. Shame if it's been replaced by an email now, but FWIW my understanding was that F pax are pretty much guaranteed a spa booking.

we have never booked a spa session, so it's unimportant for us.
Just a different experience depending on the passenger I suspect. Consistently inconsistent

The email states you can ask about spa availability when you arrive at the lounge or email about booking a spa appointment with a provided email address.

Sent them an email this morning about it, will reply if I hear anything back.

Flew today, was a pretty good experience. Porter met me at the kurb at Sydney Int departures and took my bags to check-in (I called the provided number 15 min prior as requested).

First lounge got escorted to the roped off section, minute steak was on the special menu and provided with spa form for my booked time. Good experience overall.

I was on QF1 to SIN and steak sandwiches on the menu (attached a pic, sorry that some of it was blurry).

Upon arrival in SIN a QF staff member was on the aerobridge with a sign for disembarking first passengers and escorted me through security and to baggage claim, though neither was particularly busy. Was super nice though.

So yeah, overall positive experience. Get to do it all again on the return on Wednesday now.

Flying DFW-SYD next week on an AA award ticket with a separate QF paid ticket connection to ZQN. Will a "host" meet arriving DFW F pax? If not, can I request a host meet me on arrival at SYD and escort me thru security and to FCL? Thanks

Hi there,

Hosts don’t meet you in Sydney or any airport in Australia as far as I’m aware.

I’ve flown First a few times, twice this year alone and no such experience for me…. Arriving or connecting.

I am sure you can arrange assistance due to a disability or special requirements, but this is ground crew and not usually Qantas staff.

Hi SFO777, good to see you here over from FT.

F Hosts can be requested and are present at every port F flys to. It could be the Duty/Airport Manager. I am escorted on every flight QF F flight on departure and arrival.

I’ve never done it on non QF stock, but it is a published F benefit.

Thanks very much MrJetSet. Had an outstanding DFW-SYD flight with a marvelous cabin crew. Even got to sit in the FO seat on arrival in SYD. And no issue with SYD international transit security and the FCL.

For future reference, how does one request an F host? I do recall having the LAX FCL check-in agent request for me a few years ago and wonderful F Host met me on arrival from AKL before my SYD-LAX flight. She had proactively made a spa reservation for me. Wow. At DFW, would I just ask the check-in agent? Is there an email/phone number to call and request?

In my experience you can just email: [email protected] replacing AKL with DFW and so forth. And for Sydney it is: [email protected]
