Thank you for your loyalty

Hopefully AFF and other websites will write an article to help spread the word. Still no LT status unfortunatly.
Maybe Qantas are waiting for my annual renewal (May 2026) before posting my loyalty bonus. I really don't want to have to call them because all that will happen will be nothing.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Qantas Status Credit Gift.

As you had already retained your Platinum status at the time the Status Credit Gift was announced, and your new membership year begins within 90 days of the gift being awarded, you are eligible to have the gift applied to your upcoming membership year.

To do so, please contact the Frequent Flyer Service Centre on 13 11 31 during the first month of your new membership year, and our team will be happy to assist you.

We sincerely appreciate your continued loyalty.
Next up, perhaps they could re-allocate the PC bonus points to ‘on ground’ instead of ‘flying’. The latter meant it didn’t count for PC members who had flown enough to earn max 20k points in that category.

So what's the basis for the 90 days, I wonder? And why not generally announced? Complete BS.
When idiot companies/organisations/politicians get exposed, they just start making ship up as they go along. And secrecy/distraction/censorship/gaslighting are all standard tools used as well....

Qantas are masters at all of this.

I'm still waiting as well but given I'm trapped halfway between WP and P1 (2290 SC) it makes no difference to me whether I get them or not. If they don't show up I might enquire about them after my new membership year starts in January...

Same here. Still not received as WP however with them and my current flying will see my January year end at 3,620 so have been anxiously awaiting them. Much more then others I’d speculate.

Remember when Governments gave you free money? How did that work out for everyone?
Apply the same logic here.

Flood the market with free status credits + free bonus campaigns = short-term sales surge.

Drive short-term sales -> Increase status numbers -> cannot service all status members without massive investments in larger lounges & more premium capacity -> get people used to having status -> increase qualification requirements to 'keep it fair'.

Or in real terms. Problem -> reaction -> solution
Problem: Too many status holders.
Reaction: Media/forums "yeah too many status members!" (driven by PR).
Solution: Increased qualification requirements.

Enjoy the sugar hit of the easy status credits now, because just like free money from the Gov - you'll pay for it later, and it will somehow be your fault.

I think it would have been better if QF hadn’t offered the gift (and I’m sure they regret it now).

Clearly they are concerned about flooding the membership with SCs and leading to too many people with lifetime status. I personally think this is a good thing (the last thing we need is them removing benefits from lifetime status tiers).

Nobody expected the gift, I can only assume it was part of a strategy to drive up DSC take up.

This just in..... Qantas have finally relented regarding the worthless SC "loyalty" gift for those that have already achieved their current status renewal for next membership year....

For those whose membership ends last day of Sept, Oct or November - you can write to QFF after your year end to have your SC gift credited to your new member year. You must have achieved your current status (renewal) before the gift on 28 August. This restores some "value" in the otherwise worthless gift. .
Thanks @Greg555 for this welcome news.

Do you expect Qantas to make significant changes to status thresholds?
