Like me! That’s why my overseas work travel for the next six months is on Star Alliance - mostly SQ. I’m not going to hit P1 this year and with 33,000 lifetime SCs I’m not going to make LTP. Where’s my incentive to fly QF for the rest of my year as a pretty frequent FF?
Flight was cancelled anyway! No need to report back. The change does not come into effect until September 15th.
This table is misleading. Those SCs are to attain each level first time. Renewal within your membership year is less, e.g. 1400 SC for Platinum first time, 1200 thereafter. But then you all know that! I am about to achieve my 1200 target three months ahead but I don't expect to get the next loyalty bonus because I did some major travelling on a partner airline and those SCs don't count towards the loyalty bonus. Last year I carried over 50 SCs, a most welcome start to my year.Yeah I couldn't see it in the T&C's, but It's right at the top of the linked page in red:

The table says that the platinum bonus is for 2400 Status credits, but saw on other places that it is 2400SC on Qantas/Jetstar flights. Which one is true. I am very close to 2400 for the year, but no where near it if just Qantas/Jetstar flights.
It’s 2400 QFg SCs.
It’s easier to get P1 and gift WP than to get this bonus to gift SG, except if you never earn any DSCs or other non-flying QF SCs.
Yep. 2400 without DSC’s is a slog.
I do find excluding Jetstar from the P1’s 2700 on QF marketed requirement to be a little odd l - surely they’d rather you fly on their metal than an AA codeshare?
But it's pretty rare it's a direct choice between those.
In the case of JQ, they'd rather you book the more expense QF flight.
In the case of codeshares, they'd rather you book the QF code than booking direct with AA.
The only problem is JQi only destinations like SGN. Well perhaps they'd rather you fly somewhere else!
