250 Velocity + 250 FB for a manual transfer, so just do the minimum of 1000 FB (unless you have a specific redemption in mind) and wait for a 5% bonus.
500 Velocity + 500 FB for first ever auto transfer (I suspect few on here would be eligible).

Between 12.00am AEST on Tue 1 Jul 2025 and 11.59 pm AEST on Sun 31 Aug 2025 (Promotion Period), Flybuys and Velocity Frequent Flyer Members who link their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to their Flybuys account will receive one of the two offers below, which will be credited on the first eligible transfer the member successfully completes during the Promotion Period:

We got both of ours on April 11th if that helps? The line item is listed as Flybuys March 2025 Flash Sale manual transfer.
It definitely wasn’t our first manual transfer.

The 'first time transfer' requirement only applies to auto transfers.

(I've done my 1000 point transfer. Last time, my bonus lobbed in on 13 January after transferring the Flybuys points on 27 November. It was described as 'Flybuys Dec/Jan 250 Manual Transfer'.

Received that, but that was March 5 pct bonus for manual transfers (and 15 pct for the first Auto).

Then in April they had an offer similar to the current 250/500 one. I found T&C email and looks like only 'first ever' were included. Probably not worth chasing...

General Terms and Conditions

Between 12:00am AEDT on Tuesday 1 April 2025 and 11.59 pm AEST on Wednesday 30 April 2025 (Promotion Period), if you are both a Flybuys member and Velocity Frequent Flyer member, you can earn bonus Velocity Points and bonus Flybuys points as follows:

1. Velocity members who link their Velocity membership to their Flybuys account for the first time during the Promotion Period and:

a. complete a manual transfer of a minimum 1,000 Flybuys points to their Velocity account (in one transaction) within the Promotion Period, will receive a total 500 bonus Velocity Points and 500 bonus Flybuys points; or

b. complete an auto-transfer of a minimum 1,000 Flybuys points to their Velocity account (in one transaction) within the Promotion Period, will receive a total 750 bonus Velocity Points and 750 bonus Flybuys points. Members must remain opted into Auto Transfer until the end of the Promotion Period to be eligible for this offer.

Each member who has never linked their accounts before, will only be eligible to redeem the offer once during the Promotion Period (for their first eligible transaction) in accordance with 1(a) OR 1(b) above. If you have previously linked your Flybuys and Velocity accounts (and then unlinked them) you will not be eligible for the offer set out in 1(a) OR 1(b) above.

2. Velocity members who have linked their Velocity membership to their Flybuys account prior to the Promotion Period and for the first time:

a. complete a manual transfer of a minimum 1,000 Flybuys points to their Velocity account (in one transaction) during the Promotion Period, will receive a total 250 bonus Velocity Points and 250 Flybuys points; or

b. complete an Auto Transfer of a minimum 1,000 Flybuys points to their Velocity account (in one transaction) during the Promotion Period, will receive a total 500 bonus Velocity Points and 500 bonus Flybuys points. Members must remain opted into Auto Transfer until the end of the Promotion Period to be eligible for this offer. Offer excludes members who have opted into Auto Transfer and made an Auto Transfer before 1 April 2025. Members who have completed a manual transfer before the Promotion Period are still eligible to receive points for their first Auto Transfer in accordance with this clause 2(b) only but will not be eligible to receive points for a manual transfer as outlined in clause 2(a) above.

Each member will only be eligible to receive bonus points once during the Promotion Period (for their first eligible transaction) in accordance with 2(a) OR 2(b) above.

Your Flybuys account and Velocity account must remain linked until the end of the Promotion Period to be eligible to receive this offer. This bonus points offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.


The Terms and Conditions governing the transfer of Flybuys point to Velocity is outlined below. Velocity Points will be credited to the linked Velocity account. Flybuys points will be credited to the linked Flybuys account. The bonus points will be credited to the member’s Velocity account and Flybuys account within four (4) weeks of the end of the Promotion Period.
