The idea of a seperate DYKWIA lounge must be a winner regardless?
The more DYKWIA the better <and while we are at it, where's my CL invitation?>

Coming with the HBA CL!The more DYKWIA the better <and while we are at it, where's my CL invitation?>
If you know where to look, there is actually a separate DYKWIA section in the J lounge for celeb or wannabesThe more DYKWIA the better <and while we are at it, where's my CL invitation?>
Just reviewed the thread since lounge unveiling.
* The pie floater doesn't
* The frog cakes aren't
* The Torbrek has taken off
* The FUIC has maintained " ... its nothing."
* The kitchener bun is stuck in Khartoum and the berliners are still in the bunker
* Maggie Beer stuff - do they post nutritional figures. Check the sugar levels next time you see a jar.
Still worthy of lounge envy!
Probably some time after the HBA Business Lounge opens.When is HBA QP getting scallop pies?![]()
I was there for three hours to 2:30pm today.Jeez, I hope the new Adelaide business lounge maintains what looks like a high standard.
Having been through the Brisbane business lounge more times than is healthy in the past few months, they have really dropped the ball there.
Admittedly only been through at breakfast and lunch time but the food offering is embarrassing.
A pot of warm baked beans and a make-it-yourself sandwich with 1 toaster for breakfast. No pancakes, no fruit juicer (other than the apple and orange at the bar), no eggs, no bacon, just baked beans.
Lunch is worse, the breakfast baked beans replaced with "soup". This being a salted water base with some vegetables floating in it and "flatbreads", cold pizza looking things with some lumps of pumpkin and cheese, and the make-it-yourself" sandwich selection with "ham" and "beef" slices the only meat choices. The ham is a sliced block of manufactured meat, the one you get from Woolies for $9.99/kg and the "beef" slices are so tough that you need a chainsaw to cut your toast.
Maybe they're going for the "lowest cost lounge" award but seriously, I thought the Admirals Club was bad. This is a BUSINESS lounge for goodness sake.
Eggs, bacon and mushrooms today plus all the usual continental options. Pretty decent spread.Breakfast. Standard scrambled eggs, sausage and baked beans for hot options.
Would that be with or sans roe….?When is HBA QP getting scallop pies?![]()

The cleaning staff are making quite an effort to keep it looking good.Not sure about the choice of lighter coloured carpet in some areas - can already see the stains and grot.
Overall, pretty decent effort.
If they do have a wet vac vacuum (sucker) it could work to remove the ingrained food waste.The cleaning staff are making quite an effort to keep it looking good.
When I was last there (5pmish), some grot had made a mess. The cleaner swept up the loose bits and attempted to clean the stains. Got most of it off. She then took pictures of the stains she couldn't lift. After she left, I leant over to have a look at where she'd taken the pics. I thought she did a pretty good job.

They could have put in non stain carpets, but it woulf have cost too much.
I was in the lounge earlier this week.Eggs, bacon and mushrooms today plus all the usual continental options. Pretty decent spread.
Nice refurb to the space given it always seemed like it was built for separate business and Qantas club spaces anyway. There is a lot of bar seating which will probably help at particularly busy times though slightly annoying there isn’t really a tv on the pillars near bar/high table area (like the old lounge) for those who want to watch footy etc.
New public kitchen area still doesn’t seem to be used for much apart from overflow storage of pre-cut sandwich bar items in the fridge.
Self serve soft drink cans are a nice touch - much better than coughpy pre-mix.

Patience GrasshopperI just wish Qantas would offer food in keeping with the very impressive space.
