Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

Very minimal beyond members.
Very minimal WP+ members.
Why not merge them.... Still very few member.

Less WP members.
Less SG members.

It's like asking why QF don't merge CL and P1.

Same thing really. Each tier is catered to a different target group.
Completely different. C o m p l e t e l y .

There's a heap more QF WP members than VA WP members.

There's a heap more QF CL members than VA Beyond members.

Same thing how ?

Merging a much smaller group is easy.

Merging a larger group not so easy.

Well, in both cases one is “earned” and one is gifted. The later on the premise that their organisation is a big contributor to the payers and status earners.

This status restructure just makes less and less sense.
it's rewarding flyers like me who book for work requirements with very little notice and pay the premium prices.
Last week I had a MEL-SYD-MEL trip which netted me 66 SC's for $792 which would have been only 30 SC's before the change. I managed to get the trip DSC credited too, so it's a nice boost to my VA metal count this year for only 3 hours of flying.

I totally agree and also unfair for those of us who earned a lot of SCs prior to 2013! They should have given everyone who was a member prior something - maybe 1000 SCs added to the Lifetime total for all long term members.

Yes, seeing it is clearly the case they DO have access to this data, they are pretty dumb not to make some allowances. To say they do not have the data is just a CROCK.

Junior partner should have asked Big Brother UNITED what THEY did. They combined ALL flights made on both Continental AND United when setting Lifetime Gold status on United. Both totally separate animals at the time.

Throwing a bone to ~15 year loyal members makes perfect sense to any program with half a brain. Start 2025 with ironclad rules. For past loyal flyers - get real.

Dropping the loopy '9000 SC' on Virgin is just basic common sense -- 50% or 75% makes it more sensible, especially to long time flyers. The 12,000 SC seems about right. It is only Lifetime GOLD they are handing out there - not Platinum Plus!

Their bookings are clearly suffering, and interest in the once awaited DSC program has crashed 30% over last year as AFF's figures show -

I hope you enjoy your employer's largesse in your retirement.
