Vinomofo Wine Deals

I don't think I've ever had a Wolf Blass wine before, but is Grey Label 2018 for $20ea worth a punt?

Yes. I found the Grey Label to be of a great value. $20 is good. I usually prefer the Cab Sav if it is also an option.

I can't find any references to the

Parker Estate Abbey Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

anywhere. Is this a Vinomofo special label. (ie their standard Cab with a label just for Vinomofo). Anyone have any views on it - some of the other wines from this Estate get good reveiws

I grabbed some of this a few years back. Maybe the 2011. Was underwhelmingly flat for all the claims of being one of NZs finest. Sigh.
I haven't tried any Sophia vintages for many years, but just an observation that 2011 was being flogged in many places for a long time, i.e. with little success and no repeat buys. On The Real Review, every vintage since 2011 has rated 2-5 points higher than the 2011. Perhaps you should not reject the brand/label based on one less than stellar vintage and a bottle that may have had a suspect storage history before you bought it. Of course the cork seal may have also contributed to your unhappy experience.

I fail to see anything the slightest bit iffy in considering a sample of two to be an infallible indicator of a wine.

I think it may be Riposte Wines En Garde Pinot Noir 2024?

Yes it is.
Be wary of overt mint/menthol characters.

It's most likely to be Parker Terra Rossa cab sauv, which uses grapes from the Abbey vineyard, & the 2022 vintage sells for $34 directly from Parker. The words "Abbey Vineyard" instead of "Terra Rossa" being the only change from the original label to that on the VM version. If so, it's a well made wine. Maybe Coleraine instead for future buys if this is the style you like.
That's what I thought it was over the weekend before coming here and realising it wasn't. Would have been very happy with Coleraine, so glad I didn't pull the trigger prematurely.

I'm on the lookout constantly for Chatto Creek, they wont ship out of NZ and were offered only once that I can see on Vinomofo.

I also bought this Chatto Creek from Vinomofo. I recall that it was very agreeable.
