Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Your astuteness knows no limits, olympicwiz!
Furthermore, my mate tried a bottle on Mothers Day and while he said whilst everyone loved it, he thought it was on a thinner side and questioned its authenticity. I attributed it to the placebo effect. We agreed to conduct a blind taste like the Coke vs Pepsi challenge at a BYO later next month.

Let us know the results! Agree on the placebo effect, - there is always this lingering doubt with a cleanskin.

  • looks like Dan's are alternating between $50 off $300 and 10% off - it's now straight back to the latter with FRENZY10 until this Friday - more clearance wines spotted:

Some negative vibes on the Gladstones 2020 over at my place (two people "Tried a few times. Not overly impressed.", "I don’t think time will be it’s friend."), but thumbs up for the Cornerstone.

Hi everyone, new here.

I've come across this site which is the family and friends portal for Joval wines. Site used to be Finewineco - vAmici

Would anyone have the ability to invite new members by any chance?

Welcome aboard @tomquirk84 - unfortunately its not an easy site to access. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think any AFFers have been able to invite for quite awhile and some who managed to gain access had their accounts closed during a clean up...

I just emailed them and asked to get access. ("Could I please get access to your website so I could purchase some of your fabulous wines, Kind regards etc etc). The sent me an invite link and even $25 voucher for a purchase greater than $150.

At the time I emailed to [email protected] and now their email address is [email protected]

Hope it helps.

Vintage Cellars also have 2012 and 2013 Wynns Shiraz and 2016 Tahbilk Shiraz for approx $20 a bottle once the 25% discount is applied.

Ordering from them is bizarre. Even if you choose delivery, you have to order from a store that has your order in stock.

Their web site is also stupid. You can’t filter on vintage, making it hard to find older hidden gem bargains like the ones I mentioned.

The big issue both the chains have not been able to solve is identifying the vintage that they are offering. Barcodes don't include vintage, stores sell different vintages and have no way of showing what vintage they have. Some listings do nominate a vintage, most don't.

One of (numerous) reasons I don't buy much from the chains.

Although they must be hurting a bit, judging by the recent discount/code deals and I have given them some of my wine budget after a long hiatus.

FineWineCo had some sharp deals, but lately I've gone a bit cold on them. Really only buy Pio Cesare and a few other Barolos from them now. Gone are the days of $70 Coleraine and impossibly cheap Duval Leroy :(
The Femme De Champagne still leaves warm memories! Still have a couple of bottles from one of the greatest scoops on this forum IMO ;)

FYI - To access vAmici I just needed to reset my password that I use to use for finewineco but maybe better to email them for a new registration and get the $25 voucher as per advice from @olympicwiz above

I just did a password reset and logged in...nothing special at the moment.

I'm still smarting from the time I took one to a friends place for dinner and they promptly put the bottle in the cupboard never to be seen again
