I was looking up the Glenfinnan rail museum yesterday but I don't know if we'll get there tomorrow@Denali are you going up to Glenfinnan? Just researching it now for a stay in August - looks like a lot to do (incl viewing the famous viaduct).
I'll also be passing through Glencoe - any tips or insights?
Between Glasgow and Glencoe is the Museum of Lead Mining but Mr Denali wouldn't let me stop.... I need a better travel partner because he also said no the water powered beam pump. He should know by now I like weird things![]()

I thought of you when I saw the Lead Mining museum, you would have gone with meMy mother was intensely interested in seeing castles in the UK when she and dad went there. Nope! Dad was a 'get from A to B in the shortest time' guy. Drove mum spare.
I'm going to be all over the Museum of Lead mining - should have a great collection of picks and shovels.
My favorite museum was the original Derwent pencil factory in Keswick. Walk out the back and there is the drawing on the back of the 72 box standing on the bridge with river and mountains behind. Not the current museum which does not compare. My mother was intensely interested in seeing castles in the UK when she and dad went there. Nope! Dad was a 'get from A to B in the shortest time' guy. I'd be worried about falling off the back and ending up in the harbour.doing downward dog yoga class on the Bay of Cascais jetty.
Really good photos of each of you. You might say these should go straight to the Pool Room.2 ancient travelers on SQ232.We may not be able to walk far but we can enjoy a champagne or 3.
