A380 cross-wind landing at Oshkosh by gosh

That is one helluva cross wind.:)

Not really, I have been in a QF 747 doing circuits and bumbs at AVV when we did a 30 knot crosswind landing, we moved to MEL to finish the training session after that, from memory up to 25 knots is permissable by most airline standards but hardly preferred!

In this case I suspect the excess PIO's were more the result of needing to minimise the exposure of the engines to the grassed area of the runway, the possibility of FOD looked quite high going by the amount of cough being blownup with the reverse thrust.

Wish I had been there, its the one thing I really want to scrub off my wish list one day!

Hmm,

can't look at U-tube from work - was hoping to look at it at the QP ...

No such luck!

Moral of the story: If you are going to misjudge a landing, don't do it while millions are watching :)

What sort of dodgy network are you on at work :)

It's not the network you think. it's a 3rd party network - the problem is the nanny - Filtered due to "Social Networking"
