Qantas domestic economy meals

QF837 - DRW - MEL

Two options on this early morning flight. One a frittata with chicken sausage or the continental option.
The smell of the frittata was awful. Filled the plane.
As a result I chose the continental option…

I do like this yoghurt - had it on SYD - DRW a couple of weeks ago.

To be honest I thought that you would have had more food for a flight that length

QF471 SYD-MEL 5:20pm

A snack consisting 5 slices of cheese and 5 crackers.

Crew were at least clued in when it came to those wanting a second round of drinks.

I noticed that too… we used to get the 3-compartment snacks with cheese, crackers and dip, or nuts, or a variation of those three. Last time it was just the cheese and crackers! Same I think as QFi economy with the main meal service?

Dunno whether that’s temporary or not.

If it wasn’t for economy plus I’d be snagging a seat in the last row to get seconds!

QF932 PER-BNE Friday Oct 9, 738 VH-VXE "Coffs Harbour"
Sched 0600 actual pushback 0607 takeoff 0617(21)

No dice with the upgrade today on a very full 738, makes me realize how fortunate I am to be up the front most of the time these days as things remain very tight on the narrowbody in spite of "Economy plus", and there was no way I was ponying up a ludicrous $140 for row 4.

The hot breakfast option was a frittata, sausages and spinach. Given the woefully low expectations of the offerings served south of row 3 these days, the presentation and taste of today's meal was actually better than average. Portion still way too small for a 5 hour flight though, glad it was supplemented by the lounge pizza.

Fast and relatively comfortable flight though (given the packed conditions), into BNE a little early.

LRE-BNE … 3 course snacks …

Rice crackers with hummus, nibble mix - served room temp, with sparkling water to reset the pallete between each bite and black coffee.

Followed by, cold apple slices - preparing and ever so, slightly hinting to you to what’s coming next …

Good ol’ Aussie favourite - Tim Tams 😍

Stick it between your legs and it would have been edible flying over ADL….😂

Many, many years ago flying the other way, I’d manage to order an ice cold red wine and heat to room temperature the same way just in time for the meal service…
