Qantas Business Class meals & menus

To say I was disappointed by the meal would be to put it lightly. And I know, some folks will chime in, well Sydney to Melbourne is a one hour flight what are you expecting? Michelin star dining? Here's what I had for a flight of comparable length on an Embraer flight operated by Air Canada back in late June (YYZ to YSJ):

Agree; quite pathetic, really.

According to the Great One, it should look like this: but there are not enough Chilli IMO
There's only one Great One, his name is Wayne Gretzky and I reckon he would only approve of a properly prepared poutine and a chilled Molson Canadian 😂
So chose QF650 PER-SYD to get the A330~200 connecting to QF552 SYD-BNE on a 737-800.
J on the Airbus was an excellent choice and my wife approved of us taking the slightly circuitous route.
Absolutely! 99 out of 100 times at least, I'd fly wide body whenever possible, all else being equal. It's not even a close one. On the wide body you don't have a neighbour, you have a seat that fully reclines into a bed, you have enough cabin space to have your meal out and your iPad to the side (or vice versa). You've got a storage locker beside the TV screen (when seated in 7A). I also reckon (and those on this thread who know otherwise please correct me if I'm mistaken here) that the catering tends to be much better too compared to the hamburger helper they reheat on the 737s!😂

The only reason I plugged my nose and flew narrow body the whole way out to AKL was I needed that connecting flight to maximize DSC accrual (i.e. 320 SCs direct return versus 480 SCs when booked connecting through MEL).
Quebec Superior? Not on YYC flights!!
Let's leave YYC out of this one. YYC the only airport I've been to where the Maple Leaf Lounge had to have an RCMP officer stationed outside the lounge in case things got rowdy inside.
Flights to the 51st state aren’t international. 😊
I think you mean 53rd, but fair point!

He does a decent red as well.

As another point of comparison, this is what was served on a 2 hour flight in MH J. Not a whole lot of difference really, except MH don't serve alcohol on this length of flight.

Yup that is one thing that's different, though perhaps not better given it's still pre-ground. Maybe if they did it in the shape of the Petronas Towers (ala VA)?
I'd probably prefer a glass of red over the salt and pepper shakers though.

Tomorrow PJM and I are on the birds PER-xMEL-HBA.

Leaving PER at 1210h, so no chance to eat pizza in the PER JLounge beforehand.

I tremble as I face the prospect of boarding school food again after almost 60 years since going to boarding school...🤢

J travel is simply nothing at all to look forward to any more...:mad:
