I'm in the QF Lounge thread

Not sure where to ask this so hope it's not too off topic.
If travelling with 2 non-status companions as a WP internationally, is there anything stopping me from entering the J lounge with 1, then leaving them there (discreetly perhaps) and then entering the F lounge with the other?
My understanding is people have done this in the past with no issue, but I'm pretty sure it's not officially sanctioned.

Nice idea, but they may have a way of catching that ploy. Perhaps you will have make sure there has been a change of attendant.

Not done this before, but everyone on here is super helpful, so flying HBA -MEL 10:20 Saturday 24th then in MEL roughly 12:00 till 16:50 for QF9. WP so can guest one into MEL F lounge.

Lounge attendants do remember who has entered previously so I don't think it is a viable method. I have left lounges without bags and would often be just let in without another scan of my BP.

haha made me laugh, great fix. I don't see anything wrong with it or how you could possibly be caught out.

Face recognition on entry / exit, yeah right.

The guest can be linked to your own boarding pass on entry so extra guests would be noticed.

but are they linked, always?

are they linked as you enter? don't you just say +2 guests etc.

either way, if I walk in with 2 guests & walk out alone an hour or so later, I highly doubt the front staff would know / remember who I came in with +2 & who & what they looked like. You don't sign out with your BP.
Once your in I legitimately I don't see staff going around asking for xx_ to leave the lounge?

Not sure if the guests are linked to the main pax in the lounge system as they enter. But the lounge agents asks all pax (including guests) to scan their BP on entering the lounge. This could be to keep a count of how many people are in the lounge, check if the pax & guest are flying on the same day (or some other version of rules). I'd assume, given that the guests also scanning their BP followed by the main pax, there could be a connection/link that exits between the main pax and guest ... again, I could be wrong ... just an assumption here ...

true I see how they could be linked on entry.

At VA lounge you just click +2 on the entry self-service entry kiosks & in you go, no need to scan guests BP. They don't even have to be flying.
At QF lounge do the guests have to be flying??

QF DOM lounge 2x guests (for >=WP) or 1x guests (QP/SG) do not need to be flying at all... they might be seeing you off, or having a meeting with you, for example. For INT and obvious reasons around immigration, the 1x guest must be travelling on a QF/JQ or OW flight. I think for JQ, they must be on the same flight as you. QF actually state the same thing for their marketed flights, but OW rules can prevail here.

Cheers,
Matt.

In the Adelaide lounge. Nice lounge, but the food selection could be improved.

Roast potatoes are nice, but it would be nice to have something different instead here for a change.

Edit: Butter chicken with rice. Much better.

All the rules you need are here (take special care to comprehend the many footnotes):

True, but you could be confused by different information in different places. That particular page has no relevant footnotes. This is the information given, which is different to other locations on teh web site.

That particular page has no relevant footnotes.
Which page?

I guess Qantas could make it clearer - but as noted, the one you snipped there is for Qantas Club only. The one I linked is for most forms of lounge access and has 6 different versions of the guesting footnotes.
