I can't remember any precedent for a decrease on OneWorld ATW fares, except for the short term promotion recently to celebrate 10 years of OneWorld with a 10% discount.

I would not be expecting any decrease on xONEx fares.

I can always hope

The appreciation of the Australian Dollar against the US Dollar is making a DONE3 ex-DPS plus a provisioning flight all the more appealing - it's down to below AUD7400 before taxes now!

Ex-NZ isn't bad either, about AU$9750 for a DONE4. Not as cheap as South Africa or Indonesia, but a much cheaper positioning flight (especially since I'm looking at december when all positioning flights are horribly expensive!).

I've just booked a DONE4 out of NZ with it to ticket on LAN. Works out on average around $10k all up - dollar movements at the moment are moving it between say $9800 and $10200.

Just hoping they charge the credit card soon so I can lock it in, I'm pretty happy with that price

The increase in the AUD is making DONE3 and DONE4 fares ex-Indonesia incredibly attractive again:

DONE3: US$5928=AU$7500.74
DONE4: US$6779=AU$8580.48

(using XE.com just before posting).

This is really starting to get back to the ex-ICN fares that we were seeing earlier in the year - with the advantage of cheaper positioning flights as well.

Any tips on a good TA or site to ticket from Indo??

Any tips on a good TA or site to ticket from Indo??

If you don't mind heading straight out of there to select destinations i think there is some code share flights you can use and just book on-line.

Too late she cried! They've gone up again!

Here are the latest prices for a DONE4 ex Indonesia (Updated on 3 July 2009)

oneworld Explorer -
3 continent

Business USD 7,114 oneworld Explorer -
4 continent

Business USD 8,135
That's AUD$8,925 and $10,210 respectively.

Any other ideas??

Yikes !
On the other hand if you only want to visit a few counties there is a lot of cheaper business fares about that may make a cheaper trip. Then again i am just finishing an AONE5 and i would love to do another xONEx next year but it won't be in F with prices now thats for sure.

My quick scan was that it was only the US$ Asian departures that jumped

Indonesia is up substantially
AONE from US$ 8198 / 9370 / 10670 / 11948 TO 10657 / 12181 / 13871 / 15532
DONE from US$ 5928 / 6779 / 7725 / 8630 TO 7114 / 8135 / 9270 / 10356
LONE up about 5%

Vietnam / Phillipines also appear up (although my data was old) to similar levels

Pakistan unchanged
South Africa unchanged

Cheap Euro departures (Poland, Sweden, Norway) unchanged

Ok bye bye business class and Economy Class is welcoming me back with open arms!

With the rapid decrease in pointy end travel esp. from big business it does not make sense (to me) to increase fares.

Given, for example, QF who appears to be Op-Up'ping everyone, I'd rather them have a 'discounted' but paid BIS rather than an Op-Up'ed BIS. I would extrapolate that other airlines are in these similar situations given the current travel conditions.

Wondering if one of you could point me in the right direction..

I want to fly (oneworld):

PVG-ORD-LAX-SYD-HKG later this year..

Is that doable on the Oneworld Pacific Explorer fare ?

If so, what would I be looking at for:

1. Econ All the way
2. Econ with PE (where available - QF)
3. Business.

You are looking at xCIRnn (Circle Pacific) fares.

Look here for more information:

oneworld - Circle Pacific

and for fares: oneworld - Circle Pacific

Use this to calculate distance: Great Circle Mapper

One more thing; you need to terminate in the country of origin (or USA/Canada). Is the SAR of Hong Kong considered China (PVG) for this purpose?

Thanks Serfty..

I forgot to add FOC onto the end after Hong Kong. All falls under the magic 22,000 limit too, and taking a look at it, Business is roughly $6.5K originating from China, but over $9K from AU or US. Wonder why ??

Anyways.. Thanks for that information..

600 SC's on J Class would be nice too..
