Re: DONE4 pricing

Also, there isnt a place online where we can price it is there and play around with schedules etc.?
Besides the timetables, there is also an itinerary builder and online booking tool on the oneworld website. As with most dummy bookings you can go right through to get a price, without having to pay.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Damn, I was looking at doing it ex-ICN but there goes that plan... it looks like they have gone up a fair bit...

Has anyone done it via Indonesia?

Re: DONE4 pricing

Libya moved?? into Europe i assume.

Also some crazy changes to pricing relativities
eg Pakistan, first almost double business, but only 25% in Aus.

Re: DONE4 pricing

Increasing business/first fares - what a sensible thing to do, given that hardly anyone is flying business/first at the moment :)

Huge rise ex-ICN! Was considering it for next year, but back to the drawing board!

Re: DONE4 pricing

I don't understand why the huge ex-KR rise, are they expecting the currency to fall a lot or simply responding to demand ? Not many XONEx bargains to be had right now, i guess this also see's some point to point return business class fares start to seem reasonable again.

I am tipping ex-Indonesia will be the next one people use, but i have been told its not so easy to ticket from there. At least i am close ;) only a nice cheap $200 LH position flight from SIN. (pity the SGD has also dropped a little recently, atleast against AUD anyway)

ICN (like TPE and MNL) remains an attractive starting point for QF/CX fares to Australia. :)

I guess they're just responding to 'unnatural' demand here. Similarly abrupt price increases have occurred in the past, most notably CAI and IST. They must have deduced that a lot of the demand generated ex-ICN aren't actually from residents of Korea. Another possibility is currency volatility but note that South African prices haven't been hiked.

I suspect they're going to be winding back on first/business capacity (to increase economy seat numbers), so it's going to be harder to find A/J seats on some popular routes - and they'll be able to warrant the increased charges here. Let's face it, the previous AONE4/DONE4 fares were bargains.

I'm going to have to see whether doing DONE5s via South Africa is in my future. It's a pity, because getting to ICN was a whole lot easier than JNB and if you didn't want to go to Africa, then you could use an xONE3 to get around the northern hemisphere (not so from JNB!).

Does this re-wording mean that SEAsia-Oz-HKG-NorthAmerica is now an officially legal routing?

Only one intercontinental departure and one intercontinental arrival permitted in each continent except
as follows: ...
2. Two permitted in Asia when one is a transfer without stopover, or on direct single plane service between the Southwest Pacific and Europe.

Wandering through the fine print.....

Afraid not, it means... you can pass from Europe direct to Australia, bypassing Asia and then head back to Asia before heading to USA and back to Europe.

Surely, that is valid provided that HKG is a transfer without stopover. That would be one intercontinental departure from Asia, an entry and departure on transfer without stopover. And then later, after passing through NA and Europe a reentry to Asia to end the OWE.

Do we know where they have moved Libya? Has any other country been inconvenienced by the move?

Oh, you mean Libya has moved for the purposes of a Oneworld itinerary. ;)

So does anyone think that the prices of a RTW will actually decrease later this year?

Says me looking at paying for 5 of them!

Unless someone can come up with a cheaper way of getting sydney/china/italy/france/New york over December /JAnuary? :)

I can't remember any precedent for a decrease on OneWorld ATW fares, except for the short term promotion recently to celebrate 10 years of OneWorld with a 10% discount.

I would not be expecting any decrease on xONEx fares.
