Given that this summer is expected to be he'll in Europe I thought it might be helpful if we post our collective knowledge of strikes, airport shut-downs etc in Europe and the UK this summer.

@Admin would a wiki be a good idea?

Easyjet workers in Spain wil strike in three phases in July – From 1st to 3rd, 15th to 17th and 29th to 31st.

The three 72-hour walks outs will involve hundreds of crew at bases in Barcelona, Málaga and Palma.

BA has cancelled 750 flights in July more expected in August. Flyertalk has more details if anyone needs it.

Not just cancellations, looks like they are also getting other carriers to fly for them. Received notification this morning that my BCN-LHR flight in October would but be operated by IB instead of BA.

Yes they are wet leasing Finnair flights.
Also another potential strike this Friday at CDG

Do they give you a suitable rebooking option?
According to the email from BA:

You can rebook yourself onto the next available flight, or claim a refund, by going to Manage My Booking.

Please be aware that if you agree to choose a different departure point or destination to the ones on your original booking, you can't claim expenses for travel from, to or between these locations, such as car hire, parking costs or train tickets.

Hopefully the next available flight is at least on the same day.
