I have a flight book mel to nyc via lax on qf025 in why. On CMT it states that the plane is 737400 but when i click on seat map it appears that it is a 747400. which plane do u think i will be on. i am only a bronze and have put a seat req for 71ab with a joint booking with silver member. but am worried the plane may be changed to 737 and allocation would become redundant. any suggestions?

Also, on the second leg, lax to nyc i havn't been assigned a seat yet. Any ideas why.

Welcom to AFF :)

QF25 is a 737 MEL - AKL and then a 747 AKL-LAX from some time in June. (Both flight numbers are QF25) Before the June date QF25 is a 747 MEL-AKL-LAX
What is your flight number LAX NYC ? It may be on AA aircraft code shared with QF

Hi Buffett.

I think you actually end up with three different planes on your journey.

This service is a split plane service using one flight number (QF25). The MEL-AKL part of the trip is on a 737-400, with a small stopover in Auckland. The AKL-LAX part is on 747-400's. Not sure what plane you'll have from LAX-JFK - that depends on your flight number.

QF107 will be a 747-400. CMT gets confused sometimes, and has been on seatmaps for the past 18 months or so as noted by serfty in another thread.

QF107 from lax - nyc.

Stopover in Auckland appears to be 3 hours.

QF107 will be another 747-400. You could call Qantas and see if they'll allocate seats on this sector, or can't allocate them at the moment.

QF25 is a bit of a dodgy flight. Qantas markets it (pretty much) as a straight through flight from MEL to LAX. In the small print, there is the 3:05 stopover in AKL, and the plane change from a 737-400 to the 747-400 in AKL.

Whichever set of flights you chose, heading to JFK involves at least 2 planes.

Or 4 in my case this June ;)
MEL-AKL-SYD-LAX-JFK
Never take the short way !

Anyway QF27 MEL-AKL is a 734 :( but you get Jetconnect crew that are generally great from my expereince.

How often is QF25 cancelled? I flew it in Aug last year and it would have been around 40% full MEL-AKL and about 75-80% AKL-LAX (on a 743 with broken TV's from AKL to around Hawaii :() but I had a mate who flew it in December last year and he got moved to QF93 about a week before departure then on the day the flight got cancelled. I've seen that they have dropped a few flights of it (ie. it doesn't go daily) during the low season , presumably to ensure that both Mel originating flights don't go half full.

While the actual indication of whether a particular seat is allocated or not may be slightly skewed, C/M/T does give an accurate guide to the aircraft configuration. (Although I am not sure how it handles EQV situations)
