Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I put through an order from Laithwaites for $257 worth of wine and cashrewards tracked it as $51 with a cashback of $11.

I wouldn't purchase from them again. Their rage isn't great and the pricing is only competitive when you stack all the discounts, which you may or may not get.

Not gloating but my one buying experience with laithwaites went very smoothly. Several stacked discounts ($60 off the dozen + 22% cb) off a discounted case which were dispatched in six days. Seems I got outrageously lucky. Sorry all

Finally got to collect the Moss Wood CS wines from BWS MEL CBD ordered at 50% few weeks ago and to my surprise it was the outstanding 2018 vintage :)

Reminds me a recent visit to one of the city’s fancy restaurants where they had the MW 18 for $250. It seemed one of the least outrageously priced wines on their list so we ordered it. The sommelier came apologising saying they run out of it and can’t get any more because it’s sold out everywhere. Next time check your local BWS mate 😂

First offered in March. An alternate view from Winewise, the TN would seem to indicate the wine is brett-affected, Halliday notorious for not detecting brett in wines, or ignoring it. Screenshot-20220313-121912
None of my members bought it AFIK.
I actually did take a punt on this. Not Brett affected as far as I could tell. A decent wine, but nowhere near the 97. More drink now or in the next few years, which I often find for 2017s. I am happy to have a few of these but wouldn’t go back for any more.

Thanks. I suspected it might be a Curtis! Do you know if it’s any good?

Thanks. Any good?
For Curtis, I wouldn't touch it. Maybe decent but I don't like their way of pricing.

Tuerong, I have seen this regularly discounted. So I'm not hurrying to pull a trigger.

looks like my anniversary discount expired - I think it’s like birthday but based on the date you joined and valid for 30 days only

Looks like there is a Penfolds mystery pack on CD for $245. Any guesses if it's worthwhile? Although it's marked only at 37% less from RRP
I'll guess:

bin 389 ($100)
bin 128 ($60)
bin 138 ($60)
bin 28 ($50)
2 x cellar reserve from grenache/sangiovese/durif/tempranillo ($85)

Pretty good guess although there are a number of options at $50
With Penfolds - I need at least 50% discount to justify
