Has anyone got any thoughts on Grant Burge Barossa Ink Shiraz? Vivino has it at 4.1, good reviews everywhere I look and with my $20 voucher it would be $9/bt at Cellarone.

Not yet. But a bought a case last week and it arrives tomorrow. I'm expecting good things.

I never understood what reviewers meant when they described wine as jammy until I tried it. If wine were served as post mix like a soft drink in a pub Barossa ink is what they would use as the syrup

Re INK, found it over sweet, haven't bought again.
The Vivino 4.1 doesn't do anything for that sites credibility, it is not and never
will be in that class for an ozzy palate IMO.

Any ideas on this from WInestar?

The $60, 95 Point Yarra Pinot - for $19.99

When we featured this wine mid-year, it was a new offering to our Mystery Wine series and we mused that based on the price equation and string of excellent reviews and ratings, it was absolutely a very welcome one! We duly sold half of the vintage and did what any right minded retailer would do and buy the balance. So here's your second and final chance to procure this pretty and inviting Pinot with bright fruit and lovely texture. It is no surprise to see this sort of adulation:

This is wonderfully fruited and complex on the nose showing dark berry, game, dried herb and toasted spice aromas with a hint of earthy mushrooms. The refined palate delivers juicy flavours together with fleshy texture and silky tannins, leading to a seductively elegant finish. Drink: 2023 - 2030; Price: $60.00; Rating: 95 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit

If you are looking for a complex and early drinking style of Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, this wine will hit the spot with quality winemaking and fruit coming together to create a deliciously drinkable style. It opens with beautifully perfumed aromas – cranberry, raspberry, cinnamon stick and more ground spice with some floral rose petal delicacy adding interest. It is one of those pinots that gives so much aromatically. On the palate it is pure silk – earthy fruits that are open and fleshy supported by silky tannins to a long and engaging finish. It could do with a little more concentration but offers plenty of pinot personality to enjoy over the next 3 or 4 years. Price: $60.00; Rating: 93 Points; Wine Pilot

A bright light ruby. Fecund strawberry, sour cherry, rhubarb and an Asian sachet of cardamom, five-spice and tamarind. Dill and mescal, too, from a solid whole bunch quotient. Light-weight of feel, belying a core of expanding sweetness and impressive intensity of flavour. The oak, palpable but well nestled; the acidity, juicy; the tannins, slinky, lithe and herbal. A fine contemporary expression of Upper Yarra Pinot, boasting succulence, a svelte air and plenty of crunch. Alcohol: 12.5%; Rating: 93 Points; Ned Goodwin; MW
Quality yet affordable Yarra Pinot tends to have less sightings than the Loch Ness monster, yet here we are. Not that I'm suggesting $60.00 is affordable but at one-third of that - $19.99 - with the aforementioned adoration, it is a veritable rare bargain for this variety. As with almost all Pinot Noir offers, this is limited. Have a great weekend.
