International Travel Certificate Available from Tuesday

IHI number.
Ok for people who dont understand this:

An IHI (Individual healthcare identifier) number is ra unique identifier required to link information such as vaccinations.

Medicare and DVA numbers are actually IHI numbers.
Those without either can apply for one via the myGov account. Or see here
Interestingly you can also apply for an IHI under a pseudonym. However you need an existing IHI with real name before applying for a pseudonym IHI.

Basically the same as a Medicare number but without the benefits of Medicare.

Medicare card holders can also apply for pseudonym IHI but these cannot be used for Medicare claims or PBS medicines.

Indeed, unfortunately the system really is designed for people with a Medicare number, I’ve been explaining it as a kind of fake Medicare number just so the system is able to recognise an identity

I've now been able to download my certificate thanks to the help of someone on AFF who fixed up my AIR entries. What a relief!
