Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Y&Js = Young and Jackson's - the pub on the corner of Flinders St and Swanston St (BWS is presumably inside it and hence closed due to COVID). I was eyeing off the Stonier Reserve Pinot Noir myself, but alas I'll probably miss out...
I know the liquor laws are a lot different in VIC compared to NSW but a bottle shop attached to a hotel in NSW would still most likely have a separate entrance and possibly still be operating during a lockdown

Had some technical issues earlier but here it is

Perth

Edit: And for everyone asking how I am putting these lists together (among the other data I present here) perhaps we can all pretend I work two part time jobs at Endeavour & Coles and leave it at that ;)
Understood. Greatly appreciated if you could make this a regular post!

They actually had sold the Shaw + Smith by the time I picked up, managed to swap them for Bannockburn shiraz for same price - even better

For all of us down in the Apple Isle do you have suggestions (we don't have Liquor Land or First Choice but we DO have BWS).... :)

I had this before and didnt like it all. And I think I know German beers very well🥨🍻 Go to Germanliquor.com.au if you interested in German beers best choice. They have a 25-30% sale on every few months. Now back to wine.

I've spoken to Tom, and he seems like a genuine bloke.

I've gone through the lists, you can buy and he'll hold wine for you til you're ready to ship within a certain time frame.
Most the wines are very reasonably, $20 onwards which is very cheap for French wine.

Weather the wine is good, everyone will have a different opinion & you can go by his judgement plus Google for Vivino, or other reviews if any.

I've found different local stores import different wines, aka Buzz Wines has some Pinots which no one else stocks. I found Winesquare to be generally cheaper than Buzz, on their standard price close to Buzz Wines 30% off sales.

Tom specialises in French wine, so I'd give it a shot. I was going too, but I honestly just forgot! I'll be buying a bunch through him at some stage to try myself

When you Google wines, you can compare what it's being sold in Europe compared to an imported price.

If you switch countries on Vivino, it'll also tell you the AVG price within that country. You will find many Australian wines which are $60, sell for $90-100+ overseas etc.

I'm expecting my first order to arrive very soon (you pre-order the wine at the time when they leave France and get them 3 months later).
I know the prices in France and there is obviously a middle man importer price increase here (and a lot of tax...) but he sell stuffs that I can't find anywhere else in Australia at a better price.
He offers free shipping and you can build your dozen the way you want (1 bottle of this, one of that, etc.) so I think that it is a great way to get a little introduction to French wines.

Thanks very much @Mynameislucluc and @Agenor, this is great insight. I think I will try and come up with a nice mix and put in an order in so I can start my French wine journey :)
