Does anyone know the timetable - ie frequency etc of the MEL-LAX-MEL flights?

It just makes LAX-AKL with 313 pax which is good for AirNZ, but UA would take a real hit on payload if they tried to operate to SYD.
yes, Dave. But, if they can only sell 200 tickets, they will lose a lot less money if they use a 777-200ER rather than a 744 ;).

Good Luck with that. I was never contacted by V once. It was only because I rang them with concerns did I find out about any of my 4 schedule changes. Im glad I got a refund. If their maintenace records are as bad as their customer service then the things will be dropping out of the skies in no time...bet they dont ring a tell anyone!!!!

So at the moment, SeatCounter has my flight VA2 on 27 Feb (although it comes up as 'Volare Airlines') showing 9 seats avail in pretty much every class, but the VA call centre dude yesterday said the flight it looking 'pretty full'.

Can anyone advise how accurate the seatcounter site is?

Michael, I would like to know how you came about that information. We looked at teh B777-200ER and it did not have the legs to do SYD-LAX (or more preceisely LAX-SYD) with a full payload. It just makes LAX-AKL with 313 pax which is good for AirNZ, but UA would take a real hit on payload if they tried to operate to SYD. Delta are using the B777-200LR to do SYD-LAX even though they have the 200ER in their fleet and operating out of LAX already.

Dave - one of my old colleagues is in US at present taking delivery of the second 777 for V.

Have just responded to his email below of the 8/2 - asking him to confirm whether it is a 300 he is collecting.
Hope the New Year is shaping up well for you. I am currently in the States taking delivery of the second V 777. I will be in Melbourne flying the 777 around on short training trips for a week around the 23rd February. I would love to catch up.

Will advise when i have further information.

No need to await his reply. V Australia has purchased 777-300ER aircraft, so he will definitely be taking deliver of a 777-300ER .

If it is for V Aus it will be a 300ER as that is the only aircraft they have ordered.

The 200ER is in reference to UNITED

One hopes
Sorry, sir, we seem to have temporarily run out of the -300ER model you ordered. We have a -200ER parked out the back that you can have. Its just been cleaned and has a full tank of gas. We will refund the cost difference back to your credit card sometime in the next 8-10 weeks. Thank you for buying Boeing. Have a nice day.

Thanks NM - I can at least get the pilots view of the aircraft when he visits (and possibly a sneak peek).

Hi there

V Australia has added :

Portland (US not VIC)
Minneapolis
and.............Flagstaff
to online bookings.

Los Angeles - Flagstaff is operated by Horizon Air in a DASH-8 with a stop in Prescott (Where is Prescott?)

Cheers

Going on Great Circle Mapper, looks like they are talking about Prescott, Arizona (PRC) and Flagstaff, Arizona (FLG.)

Strange route but whatever :p

Flagstaff is the closest large airport to the south rim of The Grand Canyon. Flagstaff is often called the Gateway to The Grand Canyon.

V Australia Luggage containers sitting on the deck at SYD today... No plane to be seen anywhere though.

Guys, with seatcounter down, can anyone please check the seat loading for VA2 on 27 Feb?

Last I checked Y was 9+, but they've started giving away seats on the flight like crazy in LA on the radio stations here to promote the airline... so probably looking at a pretty full flight now...

Checking Amex Class Availability it would appear VA2 (Voltare Airlines ;) ) is a lightly loaded flight or they are prepared to sell the last remaining seats in any class

Cabin class: J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 S9 R9 O9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 G9

Am flying V Australia (VA1) Syd to Lax on 24th April, but can't get a seat layout from VA in order to select my preference.
Would anyone have access to a seating plan please?
