I'm currently a QF club member, and hope to reach QFF gold status soon. I know this entitles me to QF club access. Is this entitlement from the date my current QF club expires or straight away? If the latter, then there will be a cross over between the QF club access I paid for and the free access such that I don't really get a year's free QF club access. Also, if I don't qualify for QFF gold next membership year, will I have to pay another QF club joining fee?

Advice would be appreciated.

Welcome nzflyer.

Paid Qantas Club memberships are put on hold once you reach Gold (or Platinum), and then re-activated when/if you drop below Gold. So the left over time will be held in reserve until you need to use it again - without a rejoining fee.

I'm not sure this is documented anywhere on the Qantas site, so they could technically change it at any time.

Your paid Qantas Club membership is put into a suspended status so the remaining term of your current paid membership period will be continued if you later drop back to Silver level status.

As far as documentation goes, this is normally stated in the congratulatory letter you receive in your "Welcome to SG" pack. You also get a pretty gold card and some pretty gold bag tags.

Thanks Mal. You're right, it's not documented anywhere, as I've extensively search QF's website. Your prompt comments are appreciated.

I predominately flight the AKL-SYD route. Any tips for getting my status credits up more quickly?
