AFF Member Stock Discussion

Anyone interested in the Latitude float @$2.60 with a small first raising to keep the market tight?

Not in the slightest.

The last IPO was pulled because all the early investors realised they weren't going to get the gains they wanted (if any at all).

Anyone dipping into this is looking to get burnt, IMO.

We think Private Equity bought the Latitude business off GE Capital for between $600 million and $800 million. It certainly doesn't have AAA rated mortgages like the BIG 4 banks so their write offs tend to be bigger in percentage terms.
The first issue may give stags a profit as it doesn't have the dumping lined up on Day 1.
You will see big smiles from the ex postie and ex banker and you would get those for no charge.

We sold out of REX in full today as we saw reports of almost no customers on their new city to city flights.
Mrscove wants us to get some of our Mongolian gas shares sold but they keep going up. We sold out of Queensland Gas way too early so it may be ok to wait on EXR. Country risk is what Mrscove is considering.

Good decision.

I don't know the date of these reports, but the chart was telling you there was a problem during the second week of January.

A more keen eye could have detected a possible top during the week of 6th December 2020. A large bar that closed down near where it opened on high volume. That was the professionals selling to the amateurs who are now all holding a losing position.

Had a load of taxes to pay so we are feeling impoverished tonight. We were certainly glad that Shorten‘s idea of cancelling franking tax credits got nixed.
Manganese had a great day with E25 and Firebird both running hard.
Now Good Drinks Australia make beer I really dislike. Their ginger beer is drinkable. Despite this their shares have doubled so someone must be drinking their beer.
Lots of Bank of Queensland shareholders received their snail mail issue offer after the issue closed. We have to read everything and go online as snail mail to Perth is just way too slow.

Is anyone buying ooo as a leverage on the oil price? Or you find that an oil company is best.
OOO is a dangerous product in my opinion.

Do a lot of reading and understand exactly what you are buying. Most assume it's spot price oil - which it isn't.

Better to stay in products that you fully understand. We have followed foreign currencies for many years and we can still get that market wrong occasionally. A family member tried cattle and copper futures but we stayed in the stock market.
Used to do call options off top 20 companies but then went for small caps in recent years.

Before the election that Mr. Shorten lost, my travel enabler and I were flying in J when he spotted Bill Shorten. He approached Mr. Shorten and received a friendly reception. My TE discussed with him what an appalling idea it was to cancel franking credits. Mr. Shorten gave the reasons he wanted to cancel franking credits but went ahead and lost the election.

We don't draw salaries so we live off rent, dividends and share market profits as well as pensions from our SMSF.
We are not missing Shorten and his shadow Treasurer at that time.
Those stupids would have really hurt us. The new leadership group have binned that set of policies.
Hoping to look at Latitude today.
Happy with Telstra and glad we have no AMP.

@samh004 did you end up with any cash after your home building project as Latitude is rattling their can to get some fresh shareholders onboard?
Haha, not really. Been using the HomeBuilder and FHOG to set the home up. Perhaps next year I'll have some spare cash again to start investing, but not right now. Waiting for landscaping to complete before I post the final photos of the home, but the timber decks look great :)

Great @samh004 you don't have to worry about whether Latitude is cough or not.
If you buy the smallest trees just put a Greenwell tree surround around them and you can save a bunch. We manufacture them in Adelaide. Mrscove has screened off the neighbours with hibiscus and they are well over fence height now so mission accomplished.
Sold the rest of our REX shares when we heard they flew 14 passengers on a 737 between cities.

Have spent yesterday looking for something that is underpriced without much success. Any ideas??

Ok you made me look at Terragen which is tgh. We don’t do agriculural stocks well at all.
tgh take the day off and relax. Your value should then soar.....

It is difficult to find something at the moment that is clearly underpriced.

Over the past few months I've been averaging into IFL. I do think it is still underpriced.
