Vinomofo Wine Deals

Just saw this browsing Vivino, Pirramimma Vineyard Select Shiraz | Vivino

$15 for $40 RRP Pirramimma 2016 McLaren Vale shiraz. Says sold by Vinomofo.

Yet it doesn't show (for me anyway) on the Vinomofo website.

More likely to be D'Sas Heathcote Shiraz, previously offered at $12.50, don't have the old deal number handy.
Thanks for the correction, that indeed looks more likely - glad I saw it as I was very tempted to order what I thought was Lunatiq..

Sandhurst Ridge. They also have the 2012 cabernet and 2013 shiraz.

I just collected my Sandhurst Ridge from the post office, the 2012 cabernet and shiraz. Interestingly, both of these have cork closures, though botoh Vinomofo and Winecompanion listed them as screwcap and all the pictures on the Sandhurst Ridge web page show screwcaps other than the Reserve shiraz.

Export back label?

Thanks. Looks like a standard Australian back label, apart from possibly the pregnancy warning graphic, which (in extended form) is only just being implemented Pregnancy warning labels on alcoholic beverages'.

I can't quite make out the text, but looks like "Sulphites" not "Sulfites".

Yes, sulphites, I assume that's normal for here (the f would be American spelling).

A different bottling run then? Odd. I'll probably open one or both varietals over the weekend, hopefully no nasty surprises or back they go!

So I just received my six pack of Frank Ernest Shiraz ordered on eBay taking advantage of eBay plus 15% off. Visually it is a beautiful bottle, really presents well. So just opened it and it is just a sublime Shiraz. Not overly good at describing it as I am letting it breathe while I type this, but it is dense, jam packed with dark fruit that explodes in your mouth filling it up, good acidity, firm tight tannins and long finish that left a silly smile of enjoyment on my face. At $22.50 if you are an eBay plus member it is an absolute bargain. If you are not a member - it still is a steal! Normally I would have jumped to buy another 6 pack, but I have ACJ and Warhorse Shiraz coming in soon so reluctantly restrained myself.

On the back of the bottle it says only 2550 bottles are produced so 375 6 packs all up. It feels as though it was made with love. Thanks again RB.

Edit, as I went thru the half of the bottle, I ordered another 6 pack damn it!
Sooo good. Mine arrived today and I’m really enjoying it. Will probably do the same!! Thanks for the recommendation!

Could have been held as cleanskins and only recently labelled?

Yeah, unusual - different closure and possibly back label to others, like the one on their web site:
(link says 2009 but it's the 2012 there)

Diam cork, but great colour to both wines and no faults - looking forward to these with friends tonight.

At least it's Diam and not "natural" cork!

So how was it?

So how was it?

Both are lovely wines, great for drinking now or over the next 5 years. Seriously tempted to grab some more of the cab (2012 shiraz is sold out) and even the 2013 shiraz. Both are beautifully balanced and left us wanting more. The cab is more medium weight, excellent fruit, appealed more to some who tried it. The shiraz is a little bigger, but also softened out by the oak treatment - it was interesting to me that it was more like some of the Heathcote shirazes than other Bendigo/Harcourt ones like Balgownie or Sutton Grange. Both highly recommended and absolute bargains.
