The Pinot Noir & Grenache Thread

For those who are interested it appears the Bay of Fires Pinot Noir 2019 new release is available on Cellar One for $38.33 pb - limit of one case per customer. Search and you should be able to find it.

Last vintage received 99 JH points and promptly sold out with this year's release being "superior" according to the winemaker.

Has anyone's shipped yet?

Well the 3 VIP offers seem hidden from view until you search specifically for them.
Not sure if they were mentioned but also VIP products on cellarone below, both seem to rate highly. (I don't drink Pinot noir) use search field using varietal, or brand to find VIP products

STONIER MERRON'S VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2018
STONIER WINDMILL VINEYARD PINOT NOIR 2018

same sale on again until this Sunday - besides above:
and of course don't forget Bay of Fires

I read the Jeremy Oliver story previously posted. I am a bit sceptical on his Pinot score when he makes such sweeping statements across how poor Aust pinot is. We might not be making Burgundy (and are past trying to replicate it) but we have found our own identity quite well.

My case of Bay of Fires took a long time to arrive and went MIA but I've had one and very happy. Not quite as good as the '18 (drinking presently), but at this early age, highly recommend.
I was lucky to snare a case of the 18 from Cellar One. I had been emailing them a few times about it and they said it was going to be released in a month or two. And then JH went and gave it 99 which totally stuffed it all up as they only had access to around 20 cases of it and couldnt get their hands on any more. I emailed them again for an update (not knowing it was given 99 points) and they remembered me and were kind enough to let me have a 6 pack. Even got to use $60 cellar dollars towards it

Really nice people working at Cellar One and I appreciate what they did for me.

nice - yes, Annie and Elaine are good :)

Doh refreshed at check-out for cashback and my coupon disappeared and won't come back T_T

just let them know - they should be able to see in your account that you have redeemed points with no corresponding discounted order, and accordingly refund

Solved for it, looks like they assign each cart entry a specific URL - just had to locate it in my browser history to bring the coupon back up.

Thanks!

I had one of the Between Two Mountain Pinots from POCW over the weekend. I think given a few more years in bottle this will be a superb wine. At the moment the tannins are a little harsh and it's very grippy, but give it a few years this will mellow out and it will sing.

I've bought more from TWC of each of the Pinots to store for a couple of years.

Got a milestone birthday in 4 years where I think the High Density magnum will be opened.

2019 got a 91+ score on Winefront

A bit surprised, and that’s a big drop off the back of a previously highly regarded vintage. I drink a lot of Pinot and wasn’t disappointed for $38. Let us know if you crack one open

glad to hear, somewhat surprised that everyone here didn't buy all the HD/Clos before the TWC email went out on Wednesday and there was still stock - the best time for both of you should be in more than a few years :)
