Does Closing Beaches Make Any Sense?

(Department of Health and Human Services Victoria | Media release Coronavirus update from CHO for Victoria - 2 April 2020)
---------------------------------------------
"There are only four reasons for Victorians to leave their home: food and supplies, medical care and care giving, exercise, and work or education.

Victorians can reduce the risk of infection from coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and limit their day-to-day activities outside the home.

Victorians must change their behaviour to change the course of this epidemic. This means all recreational activities beyond basic exercise are not allowed.

Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton said these are unprecedented times. The threat of coronavirus to public health is real and everyone must take physical distancing seriously.

“Unfortunately, this means no fishing, no hunting, no boating, no camping, and no golf. Hang up your rods, leave the tinnie in the driveway, and clean your clubs at home,” Professor Sutton said.

We ask Victorians to stop looking for loopholes*. Just do the right thing. The advice is clear; by staying at home you’re saving lives.

“These restrictions are tough, but they are there for a reason. If we don’t do this, Victorians will die. “No round of golf or gym session with your mate is worth that cost.”"

THE GUIDELINES APPEAR TO BE WORKING - JUST DO THE RIGHT THING
*My highlighting.

you/your posts are offensive to me, however I respect your right to have/post them. Seems this is your intention though. Im not sure why you choose to reside in Australia, assuming you are of an age to make that decision for yourself.
Does closing beaches make sense? (Yes the few that have been closed does make sense to me) irrelevant, it’s the law.
Should I have to drive at 80 km/h on back roads - irrelevant, its law, should I have to have a game license to hunt my own game on my own property, irrelevant- it’s the law.
should I waste time reading your posts, no, but I just cannot help myself  :p
Should they have banned paddle boards in Port Phillip Bay.
Yes - It's the law.
But today they realised it was so stupid that they unbanned it.

Should they have banned Elective Surgery and kept people with gallstones, kidney stones, stuffed hips and stuffed knees in lots and lots of pain? When no one was using those wards, and no one with the virus will be using those wards, and surgeons and their staffs were twiddling their fingers, and those surgeons wouldn't have been working on Coronavirus patients, and the private hospitals were about to go broke and sack all their staff?

Well - you would say "Yes - it's the law" right?
Cheers,
Renato

Another total failure in reading comprehension! And what a total mishmash of thoughts splattered all over your attempted post. Boy oh boy! Speaking of embarrassing...... 😂

Why would you think it was necessary to quote the part of your post which has already been answered so many times already by several people? I’d be embarrassed to have failed to read something so simple so many times too. 😂
Well - what's your answer?

What was the unlawful activity the man walking the dog was engaged in?
In what statute books or emergency regulation does that unlawful activity appear in?

And why do you believe Police are free to question anyone they like as to why he or she is engaged in a lawful activity?

So far the only thing you've said is that it was unlawful because the Police said it was, and so it must have been.

Renato

Yes, you can.

It's in the state of emergency directions - see section 9:

A person can leave their premises to exercise. (Not simply to 'go for a wander as they feel like it'.)

Now, you may not *agree* with the law. But that's an entirely separate issue.
You'll have to do better than that.
Going for a wander if they feel like it is exercise.
Just like going for a walk if the feel like it is exercise.
Just like going for a wander in a slow jog if they feel like it is exercise.
Just like going for a wander on a run if they feel like it is exercise.

There is no law saying that before leaving one's house, one must clearly ennunciate and affirm in one's mind or to anybody else, that one is undertaking physical activity for the purpose of exercise - as you infer is the case.

Not sure why you haven't endorsed the questioning of every supermarket shopper scenario I gave, since plainly they too should be questioned as to whether they too mainly went for a wander to the supermarket.

Renato

I wish someone could gag Sam Newman, just until the end of the year.
On Channel 7 news Premier Andrews, referring to Sam Newman, said playing golf was the same as killing people.
I guess golf balls do kill people.

LOL at the Fisherman's latest post.

The Swedish Solution. Currently a death rate higher than even the USA. The Netherlands Solution even higher.

And as for Taiwan. Obviously excellent how they have managed Covide 19, but they have punishments for spreading disinformation about the virus. So someone in this thread would not have got on at all well in Taiwan!
And the reason we didn't adopt the free Chinese Taiwan solution instead of the Communist Chinese solution was....?

The Chinese have no problems spreading disinformation. Lately they've come down hard on Africans for rumours of spreading Coronavirus.
