The "I am in self-isolation" thread

I can understand how some will have mental health issues to do with isolation. Neither of us have issues like this but it is a challenging time as we are used to having tradespeople come to our home on a regular basis. Now that is going to be a problem.
With granny at 93 she is isolated at her home and her regular medical stuff has to be curtailed but not completely stopped. We got her an early flu shot last week at her home.
@Flashback we still live in the family home so we have heaps of space. London is cold and there is no field hockey for you this year.
Our neighbours are being helpful and we can help others in our street from tomorrow but only one at a time.

For some people I think they saw it might happen, did everything for it not to happen, but sometimes you just can't control the forces of the world and these things are thrust upon you. It's really frustrating when everything else seems OK and there's no explanation for it. I'm sure it makes some people happy to see it happen.

As I was saying above.... to say Im disgusted is an understatement.

Get off the Internet Denali. It's going to get worse and all that will happen for you is anger and depression. I guess one thing is that these idiots are so brain dead they think it's ok to put such stuff on the Internet where social fury takes it down but it's still out there.

I arrived home on 25 March, so this is day 5 of my self isolation. I have been banished to the back room, which fortunately is my bedroom, Mrs Irv has decamped to the spare room for now. Just finished tidying up my photos from the USA, also going to write a TR whilst fresh in my head. It could be worse, I think the secret is to keep the mind well, and in turn hopefully the body will stay well also.

Hard to stay in isolation when WW next delivery slot is a week away. Perhaps I should have done a little "hoarding" in my last delivery.

3 days of isolation to go and then I will be forced to break the over-70s stay-at-home rule.

@codash1099 maybe ask on this thread if anyone local

What suburb @codash1099 ? We are south of the city.
I'm N of river, @codash1099.

N of the river. Thanks both but after being locked up for 2 weeks, I'm more than happy to break out for a short while. And I can lean on my kids if necessary (although they don't shop as well as I do)

And what a great group this is. The offers of help I see are nothing short of amazing. 😇

Freedom Day has arrived! Been for a walk around our deserted streets - lovely to see very few people out - a few heading into Coles and Woolies but very little else activity. Garden shop for plants and a take away coffee after lunch - all to maintain our mental health and support a great little local business - have called ahead and reserved a time slot to visit!

I am coming up to 10 days self isolation with a dose of "normal flu" - heavy cold. I did break the isolation to visit the Dr to confirm that I had no particular symptoms of Covid 19 plus I have had no contact with travelers etc. I thought they might do a telephone consult but they wanted me to go in. I waited outside until called etc. My granddaughter attended a birthday party and all the kids got sick. We picked her up from school and she had just started to feel unwell. I came down with it a couple of days later. I am feeling better but the cough is hard to shift.

We are not quite 70 but as I have a few things like mild asthma I intend to stay at home. No grandkids visits for at least a few months and so on. Luckily, still plenty of food and my son will drop in some bread and milk.

Ugh. That must be an awful feeling when it was coming on - but I guess you could identify the kids' known illness as a source. I got a little tickle in the throat a few days back and got pretty worried (I've haven't exposure to anyone since I returned from o/s), until it just went away in the evening

Just curious what is the longest self isolation period here on the forum ?
I had 14 days and on day 15 , yesterday, went out for a drive with husband
Today the lack of noise and happenings is starting to get to me
We have food and books and power and water and Netflix ....however today is ...unfun

Yes it was good that I had an obvious cause. They always manage to give us a bug but this was definitely at an inopportune time.
