Qantas Status Credits Bonus Offers

The 4 day booking window is savage.
Although I just tried to make a booking and was offered pay later with a due date of 15 November.
So if anyone wants to take up the offer but lacks funds, that could be an option.
I have done this before with a double SC offer and as long as the PNR was created during the promo period it doesn't matter when you pay in full.

Given that you can get a business class flight on Cathay or Finnair to Europe for the same price that Qantas charges for premium economy to London, I'm not sure why anyone would want to take up Qantas on this offer.

Just received a 50% offer. However, this one is more restrictive that any previous offer I've received:

An Eligible Flight for the purpose of this bonus Status Credits offer means any Qantas operated international flight with a QF flight number between Australia and London (via Perth or Singapore) where Status Credits are normally earned. Connecting domestic flights to/from the eligible Qantas gateways are not eligible for bonus Status Credits

I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Well, if I was intending to go to London:
  1. It wouldn't be in winter, and
  2. it wouldn't be with QF
Noting in this offer to make me change my mind.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Also got the "50% Status Credit Points to London in Premium Cabin" offer this afternoon. What's interesting about this offer is that it is a targeted offer, meaning that from all the QF frequents flyers I was selected to be one of the lucky recipients of this exclusive deal. Just wondering what prompted QF to target me with this offer? In the last 10 years I traveled 8 times to Europe, but never to London and never in paid premium cabin. Does QF really think, their offer is so exclusive that I will change my travel patters, spend extra $$ and travel to London to get 50% extra QF Status Credit Points? I hope the QF salesperson who targeted me with this offer will not get his/her bonus for making bad choices.

I have not flown QF to anywhere in Europe for at least 12 years! And I got the offer.

I did fly QF9 to LHR last year returning on QF2...

Well my son got the offer who is gold and 18 years of age. No one else in the family did. He hasn’t even looked at flying to the UK? Meanwhile I’m looking at 2 further long hauls at the moment...as posted previously...I agree the return leg bonus is in question....As others have written...it doesn’t make much sense. Maybe it’s an enie meanie myni mo in the FF boardroom on who they send it to? It’s the only thing that makes sense to me lol

I didn't receive this offer but a friend, who has been doing a bit of casual fare-checking for a Feb/Mch trip to LHR, did. I had thought good targeting, Qantas but now it's looking more like a coincidence.

Booked flights to Santiago last month and was looking at the prices again yesterday for one of my mates coming on the trip, today I get a 50% bonus SC offer.
Where was that when I looked at the same flights every day for a few weeks before I booked my own? 😥

Another one to have received the 50% bonus SC offer. I can't believe how restrictive it is. My family all fly to the UK during Hobart's winter but I suspect our next trip will be with Finnair or JAL unless QF lifts its game (or comes up with a better offer).

I got the offer as well and am wondering about this line in the T&Cs: "An Eligible Flight for the purpose of this bonus Status Credits offer means any Qantas operated international flight with a QF flight number between Australia and London (via Perth or Singapore) where Status Credits are normally earned. Connecting domestic flights to/from the eligible Qantas gateways are not eligible for bonus Status Credits."

Does that mean you need to purchase one of the few flights with the same flight number from Australia to LHR? eg QF1 SYD-SIN-LHR counts, but QF37 MEL-SIN connecting with QF1 SIN-LHR on the same booking doesn't?

Haven’t looked at anything to London and have enough bookings through to next July to cover WP requal and today 50% extra offer. No thanks...

I haven't received any bonus status offers until today, the 50% bonus on in Y+ or above... too bad I already got my ticket not that long ago :(

Oh for a good old DSC - I was thinking about London for Christmas to escape the Adelaide summer and check out all the Christmas markets - I might have to check with @Flashback for the best ones but I think I'm going to do this. I do like the hint from @esseeeayeenn about not paying until November because that gives me some wiggle room

With the London offer do you think your booking has to go Aus-LHR-Aus or can it go LHR-Aus-LHR? I normally start my bookings out of LHR as it’s cheaper so would be annoying if it’s only out of Aus
While the language is ambiguous, it's worth noting there's an interesting T&C: Qantas Frequent Flyer members who reside in Australia (with an Australian address in their Frequent Flyer Profile). This suggests to me it is only for Australian residents, and while starting in the UK may not mean you're not an Australian resident, it may be how they're hinting the journey needs to start in Australia.

No bonus offers here. Wonder if it is because I'm not based in Australia, or due to my status, or due to already travelling to London too much, or all of the above?

Also received London 50% SC offer. Have recently looked for flights to Zagreb, Croatia and return from Paris. No interest in London and certainly not enticed by the offer.

Wonder if it is because I'm not based in Australia,

That would be the reason. It's only for Australian-based QFF accounts.

You're not missing out on much anyway. It's a rubbish offer of use to almost no one. If you're spending $5.5K on PE Aus-LHR on Qantas, you might as well be paying $5.5K for business class on Finnair/Cathay/etc/etc.

On another thread in the forum the question is asked “Do we expect too much from Qantas”?
My question is “Why is Qantas on the nose these days”?
My input is that I am leaning to other carriers for value for money.
