It wasn't just @AustralianPoochie, every time Woolworths and QFF asked for feedback I gave them a bollicking about the paltry earn rate at Woolworths and indicated I had moved all my grocery shopping and points earning over to the Flybys and Velocity ecosystem. I would bet that Woolworths have noticed a big disengagement from their scheme due to the changes a few years ago? Maybe Woolworths have woken up to their previous mistakes, remember the decision to enhance the WWR & QFF points earn was back when Woolworths had very incompetent management at every level in the business and a lot of them are now gone.

I bet Qantas have also noticed a significant drop in dollars earned from Woolworths, as redemption frequency dropped and people just decided to take the $10 off their shopping. So there's probably also some budging on their part.

Yes there is that possibility as well, some earlier posters suggesting that Qantas attempted to squeeze Woolworths revenue stream so the response by Woolworths may have been to reduce their costs in the WW/QF relationship, it's a 3 way tussle for revenue between the retailers, their customers and the loyalty schemes/points sellers in a competitive environment for the retailers and the airline loyalty schemes so a complex dynamic.

They released info about the auto transfer to stores about a week before the September transfer. Info about the increase to 1000 QF points per 2000 WOW points was only released to stores this morning at 5am.
It appears it is due to a renewal of the WOW/QF agreement.

They have also made it easier to set the WoW points option to 'transfer to QF'.

Yep - that's what I thought. It has been going three years, so renewal time. Bit of give and take (and Woolworths have shown a willingness to walk away before...)

Was on smartphone, not on laptop, didn't realise it was known on 20th of Sept.
Only got email yesterday or day before.
 
I just received the email confirming the increase in the number of QFF points received. I haven't transferred a single WOW point to QFF since the change a few years ago. I prefer $10 discounts on my shopping/fuel every now and again especially since I am flush with QFF points.

Can confirm that as soon as you reach 2000 points they'll be in your Qantas account within 24 hours. Shopped tonight and went over the 2000 point minimum at roughly 7pm and they are in my account now 45 minutes later.

Sorry my post could have been a bit clearer, here is the broad timeline:

In October 2015, Woolworths Rewards announced that it would be replacing its Everyday Rewards program with the Woolworths Rewards scheme. Rather than earning 1 QFF point per $1 spent, members could only earn Woolworths Dollars on orange ticketed items. Woolworths also cut ties with Qantas, though this only lasted until January 2016 when the supermarket announced that special offers would allow members to redeem their Woolworths Dollars for Qantas Points every once in a while. Then in August 2016 the earn of 1 WOW point per dollar spent was restored with the conversion rate of 2000 WOW points = 870 QFF points, which has remained, until the recent change this week to a better conversion of 2000 WOW points = 1000 QFF points.

So of course the staff on the front line are the last to know, my criticism was aimed more at the Grant O'Brien era management of the Woolworths group during that period - a period of billion dollars losses, Dick Smith & Masters debacles, problems with Big W, negative enhancements in the WOW loyalty scheme and shrinking sales in food, petrol and liquor in a benign consumer environment, so not exactly a happy time for WOW shareholders, staff or customers.

Not saying it is all Woolworth's fault, as I'm sure that Qantas were doing their bit to maximise their own QFF division profits. As you say - renewal time obviously has reset the power equation and it looks like maybe QFF and WOW have come to a more mutually agreeable relationship going forward and a slightly better deal for us QFF points collecting tragics here. We will never know unless we were in the negotiations but I wonder if it was QFF or WOW who decided to make the WOW to QFF conversion more frequent and better value for the customer.

I would think it goes hand it hand. Give us money faster (by transferring quicker), and we'll give you a discount.

So it costs me $16,000 to obtain 8,000 points for a one way tic to Melbourne for which I must outlay a further $39(?).....

Recently, there’s been some extra points giveaway on prosnalised offers veg if you buy this product here’s 250 points.... I do note a higher priced item say $10 might attract a similar bonus as a $8 or $6 product. Or even worse a lower number of points.

I did receive a 3,000 point father’s day wine offer ($15 discount) of which I took advantage and included the chosen bottles inside a 6 bottles 30% discount.....

Dollar spend is not that efficient, getting the offers (which involves multiple (family)) accounts to get the best outcome.
Agreed, currently what had been a rather dormant linked membership account has a three week $30/$40/$50 spend for 1000/2000/3000 points = 3k QFF (or a $30 rebate) for $120 spend.
 
Mrs Flying Fox and I have already received WOW/QF points at the new rates.
 
Just got 12k points for 3 cases of beer @ $50 each via the offer I mentioned up thread.

I paid ~$42 in surcharges for a SYD-BNE award a few weeks ago.
