We decided that we didn't like the dinner much.The last 2 on menu were desserts - sort of icecreams.
Pics below but I didn’t photo all - a couple were “in between menu items - chef complimentary”. Nothing in the wow category.
The wines were OK, no standouts though matched they were (but we got the standard wine pairing not the premium)

Dinner at my father-in-laws and step M-i-L’s place on the weekend. Being my wife and father in law are from England and my step M-i-L is Welsh, always fare from UK on the table.

Always funny to give my step M-i-L some red wine and then get her to talk in Welsh (or even better, Skype call her family back home). My God they talk fast :eek:

You’d better get a number and get in line. It’s like seagulls and chips with my family. Something my kids love to eat, but they are so finicky to cook. The tray must be the right temperature and oil lest they stick to the sides (when we attempt them). As you can see, my step M-i-L is a dab hand. Years of practice

My mother used to cook a roast in a deep oven pan and when it was ready use the oils(fats) and soiled pan to make a single full pan yorkshire pudding with the flavour of the meat coming through. Ah those were the days. Never been successful making them properly myself.
 
After many years of hard work our friends have finally opened their own cafe/Patisserie. Her dad owned a famous Patisserie for many years and I grew up eating their cakes. I'm so excited to see all my favourites back again. They've done a fabulous job.
