Seat selection

Update: OWE can select any seat for free except for exit row and premium rows (only a few rows) on MH flights.
Thanks for that, good to know. Just updated the seats in my Y booking, which I couldn't do previously.

Can OWE select extra-legroom seats or exit-row seats for free during online check in? Or do you still have to pay?

I haven't tried. I have flown J on MH several times for work but am going on a holiday on a super cheap ticket. Whilst i can select normal seats for free, payment still required (as has been discussed) for extra leg room seats. Since i've had no experience with Y, was wondering whether i should just pay for the seats or wait until online check-in
.

All pax can select exit rows for free at T-24h but not before that. OWE do get free seat selection of regular seats only before T-24h.
