I’m pretty sure the AU departure “tax” is only applied for flights to Asia. Did you have to pay extra on any of your bookings to Europe or USA?

Edit: Looks like it’s applied for flights in J but not F.
Makes booking F long haul even better value ex-Australia.

It's officially listed on the chart as 120K others->Europe.

I've had mixed results with screenshots - sometimes from Europe I get charged as little as 105K for mixed F/J. Other times get charged the full 115K. I guess YMMV.

I logged in for the first time today and i found the site absolute cough.
Couldn't get a single award to show up.As slow as a wet week.

Plus where do you find the expiry date now?

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Firstly - the expire date is not shown online anymore - LM have "their best people working on it" - in the mean time you can e-mail support and ask them - they may or may not require a scan of your passport.

Actually the new site seems (to me) to show the same patterns of award availability as the old one - however the presentation is very coughbersome. So none of the previous deficiencies of the old site have been addressed. This is the most annoying thing IMO.

Likewise , I couldn’t find a single award for right up to feb 2020

What I meant was I go to search for an award. The date comes up as available so I tick the little circle and those 3 red dots at the bottom of the screen keep moving and no awards come up at all.

Not sure which routes you are searching but I've booked several J awards on the new site for Jan/Feb 2020:-

SYD-YVR for 2 on AC
YVR-HND-SYD for 1 on NH
YVR-ICN-SYD for 1 on AC/OZ

When checking for an additional award YVR-SYD - I saw one J seat on YVR-HND-SYD on NH on Jan 31.

No expiry dates on line yet. Supposedly coming.

I do find the website quite quick though to show results.

That sounds odd!

If you're looking for one way have you selected that? Otherwise it just keeps taking you to a date screen for the return.

I was checking YVR-SYD , I even checked seperatly YVR-ICN and then ICN-SYD. No luck . I’ll try again.

I'd suggest trying to find initial availability with the United tool. This will give an idea of what's out there with a 30 day calendar view. You can then try and replicate that for your dates on Lifemiles.

Thank you .
Was playing with Europe to Aus from nov to feb . All that comes up is Y. And no Thai Airways whatsoever.

I know! Thai availability has dried up - outright disappeared in some months.

It was sketchy for a while, but at least it was still there while the glitch over at UA meant they withdrew it from their search engines. Once UA started showing it again it was snapped up within a matter of hours.

One of the standby options is Air India - FRA and OSL seem to be ok most days (at least in October when I was looking) for MEL and SYD. The connection in DEL is not too bad at 5 hours.

TG out of VIE and OSL also seems ok, but the connections to Au can be almost non existent.

Maybe Europe's the problem?
I've today and yesterday booked BKK-SYD-BKK for December and have been seeing availability into Feb.
