In economy on Qatar with a 6 hour connection at Doha, and was offered paid access to "First Class Lounge" @ around $120 pp when I made the booking.
Seemed reasonable for a rare experience if it really was a "First Class" lounge, but it isn't.

When you look at the Qatar website it only mentions their "flagship" lounges. There is a "Purchase Access" button there for the Business Lounge, but I figured since I was offered the First lounge with the booking I would take it up just for the rare experience.

No way should this lounge be named "First Class" and at $120 a complete rip off and a blatant misrepresentation of what is being offered.

Agree pretty much. Qatar only allows J passengers into Al Mourjan and F pax into that F Lounge. They’ve created a faux business lounge to satisfy the Emerald access issue.

There was also an adjacent "Business Class Lounge" - not the Al Mourjan - which I now assume would have been where we would have ended up if using the "Purchase Access" button on their website for the Business lounge, even though it is visibly associated with the Al Mourjan. https://www.qatarairways.com/en/lounges.html
Another misrepresentation.

It looks like you might purchase access into Al Mourjan?

That was also how I read it, so when I got the offer of the "First Class Lounge" at a higher price I figured it really was ...
but if you click through to Al Mourjan "more info" button and read the words carefully ...
" Qatar Airways and oneworld First Class and Business Class passengers can access this lounge at no additional cost, while Economy Class passengers throughout the network can purchase lounge access at the check-in counters, preferred travel agents, or Qatar Airways' sales offices."
... it does not promise "this lounge" for economy passengers, just "lounge access".
I expect Qatar would argue this is clear, but to me it is a subtle misrepresentation.
