Hi there

I am travelling on the inaugural DJ flight MEL-AKL in sep and returning on the same day on Emirates to MEL.

I can OLCI on EK, but according to the EK website i still have to get a boarding pass at the airport, Is there a transfer desk at AKL i can go to in order to get the boarding pass issued so i don't have go thru immigration?

Also will i get aggro from AUS immigration on arrival back in MEL, when i have departed to NZ in the morning but there will no record in my passport of actually arriving there or anywhere else for that matter, but have somehow changed airlines in the intervening 12hrs:rolleyes:

Cheers

I vaguely remember an international transfer desk at AKL airport. It is also mentioned on the AKL airport website.

I don't think Australian immigration/quarantine are going to care that you do not have a stamp in your passport but international day trips always raise questions as to what is the purpose of the trip. If you answer truthfully, and start explaining status runs to them, more than likely they will leave you alone.

One thing to be wary about is having many international day trips in a short space of time. This would raise alarm bells and you could be suspected of being a drug courier or something similar. One trip should not be an issue though.

Hmm; thought you would have got bored of doing Virgin Blue/Pacific Blue inaugurals by now, how many T-shirts you got now.

I would think that it is no problem for Australian passport holders; not sure if it is a problem for someone with a British Passport.

Do airfares out of New Zealand now include the $25 departure tax

I think it would be easier to go through customs and get the stamp.

About your only defense is you like flying.

Hi there

Thanks for the replies, I wanted to avoid NZ C&I as i always get aggro from them and have to queue for an interrogation behind half a dozen people who normally have a load of bags and have come from SE Asia:mad:

I would be exempt from the departure tax as I would be in transit.

Me get tired or DJ inaugurals.......never, 93 t-shirts at last count:mrgreen:

Ex AKL there's a NZD13 for arrivals and departures included as part of the
ppplus.bmp
in the total ticket cost.

ex WLG & CHC, one still needs to ante up the NZD25 for a sticker ...

(Fly in to WLG/CHC, fly out AKL - save NZD12 on your travel costs ... ;))

So I do the complete opposite and booked to fly into AKL and fly out of CHC for the Kiwi Mainland DO next month.  :(
