Passenger believes they are entitled to va Lounge after flight delayed

Meal voucher is better than lounge access due to inferior food in lounge.
Virgin can please release CCTV to prove that passenger was being threatening to staff?

The irony is that the meal voucher would probably buy you more at an airport food outlet than what you would get on a VA flight seeing as though they count a packet of chips as 'dinner.'

I guarantee my parents never took me into an airline lounge ;)

Yes, but did you parents ever let you out of the house as a kid? If so I guarantee that just that simple action annoyed someone.

It's amazing how many normal things that kids do can annoy adults who don't have kids themselves, even if that action had no negative effect on the adult. For some adults, just the mere presence of a child is enough to send them into a rage.

I suspect you find that people like this either do have kids, but their kids are “angels” and wouldn’t do something like that .... or they don’t have kids and get just as annoyed by other adults .... they’re not discriminating they just get annoyed by everyone not behaving as them (superior)selves would :p

I don’t have and won’t have kids and takes a lot for them to annoy me (although maybe having 11 nieces/ nephews is does increase ones tolerance levels ).

Always went out except when pouring with rain.Society was a lot different then. The whole neighbourhood would come together on Bonfire night,Australia day etc. Also The men of the neighbourhood all built a pool on the shore of the Lane Cove River.Only 2 not actively engaged but both disabled.Still came along to look after us pesky kids though.
Times have changed though.

Putting into perspective

We did the odd international flight as a family growing up but my parents will be going into a lounge for the first time in their lives next year for a trip I have booked for them even though they travel twice a year

Ironically, airport lounges are the one place we can virtually guarantee that our kids will be angels.

It's something about the threat that we'll leave and go back into the main terminal, away from the free soft drinks, juice, hot chocolates and cake that immediately puts them onto their best behavior. :)

They sure have; back then, people didn't feel entitled to special treatment or handouts simply because they managed to pop one out.

Yeah - the whinging scum of the earth now demand baby bonuses, child care assistance, family tax benefits, etc. etc. just because they choose to perpetuate the bacteria on this planet known by various putrid strains such as Moodies and Opusmen.

I don't disagree with what you have said but geez there are some angry people here!!!!

Not to mention the times when having an infant is more powerful than an APEC card (priority immigration at many airports).

Although I suspect the APEC card might be cheaper in the long run.

And so there should be priority immigration for infants/children.

It shouldn't be seen as a privilege but makes sense and probably best for other travellers. I can just imagine my daughter standing still for 10 seconds at a time in an immigration line.

Going to ruffle a few feathers but here it goes

It's because having children is a choice.

We let the elderly get priority seating on A train because everybody gets old and isn't a choice.

And if you're a sexist human being you can argue that we shouldn't have pregnant seating as it was a choice to get pregnant

But then you could say if there is a pregnant seat shouldn't we offer special treatment to those with young kids!

But then again, not everyone gets old...

Unfortunately it doesn’t always make sense when you’re on a delayed flight for hours and are tired and want to get to your hotel. The officer serving the family with infant could be processing those already standing in line for a long time :(

Not ruffling feathers. Discussion is good.

Having children is a choice but shouldn't mean giving up on everything either.

I'm in Holiday Inn executive lounge today and yesterday. Daughter has been with me at 6:00pm and wife has come down around 6:30pm and stays for ~30m and takes daughter with her. Daughter does not sit still for more than 10 seconds. Staff love her. Some guests turn up their nose.

I try my best but I'm entitled to use the lounge. Put up with it.

Yes discussion is good. I love it.

So if you were travelling first class and there was a screaming newborn the whole trip.

Or at a cinema and a screaming baby the whole time.

You would just accept it as part of life?

I know many other people would be pretty annoyed:)

Babies never annoyed me. I generally ignored them. Now I have one of my own I notice them more often and they don't bother me at all. It's part of life.

P.S. The majority of humans started off life as babies.

Babies crying are ok... but not if the parents are oblivious and just assume everyone loves their baby as much as they do. As long as parents are at least *trying* to calm the baby, that’s the best they can do.

You must be either very tolerant, patient and /or deaf :D:D:D:D:D

If I'm sitting in a cinema or first class. And I can't hear the movie or can't talk to my partner becasue of the noise, it would very much piss me off
