Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Talk about FAQ's !

1. DSC do still(as of now) count towards P1 qualification. Period.
And if the T&C weren't clear enough the picture on QF's website shows a P1 card with the message enticing customers to book to soar to higher status levels. If QF didn't want it to count anymore then they would change the image as well.

Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere. Does the DSC offer apply if you book through third party websites like Skyscanner and OTAs, or does it have to be booked through the Qantas website?

I'm not sure how to read the T&C:

"Flights can be booked via the Qantas website, a travel agent or Qantas Contact Centres".

Do OTAs count as a travel agent by Qantas' T&Cs?

Thanks!

Hmm...I had a targeted 50% bonus status credits promo at the end of June, and had booked a few flights all the way to september with this promo. They were all Flex fares, so can I cancel these flights, get credit vouchers for the cancelled flights and then rebook the same flights under this new promo to get double status credits rather than just 50%?

I'm pretty sure that if I cancel these flights and get refunded to my credit card(+pay $99 cancellation fee for each flight), I can take advantage of the DSC as the new bookings will be brand new, but not sure how it works with the credit vouchers(which will come without a cancellation fee). Just want to take advantage of the DSC without cancellation fees if possible.
I would get the refunds in $$$ and do a new booking with a completely new booking reference. Just to be sure. A credit voucher carries the original booking reference which may or may not be an issue. But who wants “issues”

AY RTW for less than $6k would usually DSC for the outbound and inbound from OZ - say SYD-SFO and the BKK-SYD

A friend who did AY RTW plus nested AA flights got 900SC incl status credit loyalty bonus. Add in the approx extra 300 from the DSC, and status credit loyalty bonus and it’s WP.

Don’t forget the 50SC bonus for every 500 QF/JQ status credits earned in your calculation folks!!

My reading of that comment is that they are merely stating some of the places (more QF-centric ones) where they can purchased ;) - hoping to get more bookings through their direct channels. They have to throw in TA's as they are still reasonable part of new business. They don't specifically exclude third parties, so if they are silent on those conditions, then they are included.

The standard QFF T&C's note the exclusions in Section 20.1.3 - again, not specifically noted, so silent on the matter but they can't rely on excluding something unless it is specifically stated.

Why not create a new book and use your older vouchers as partial payment to wards the new.
I think vouchers can only be redeemed before creating a new booking - this means the booking reference of the voucher carries into the new booking

Have registered and took screenshot but no email received.
The best way to get an email receipt is to go into your FF webpage and register from there. I registered by clicking via the email offer but got no email receipt so went into FF webpage and registered from inside webpage and email receipt received instantly

Same here.

It was better when the DSC counted towards the 500 QF/JQ status credits. Also note the loyalty bonuses are for at 500 SC, 1000 SC, 1500 SC and 2000 SC and that loyalty bonuses don't count towards P1. So to take the status credits for reaching 1500 SC you'd either want to be chasing lifetime status or to reach that amount close enough to the next membership year to be able to take the status credits then.

Agreed -nearly

The 50SC would really only benefit prospective SG and WP. It does not even count toward Lifetime status.

However that last 50 SC may be all that’s needed to fall over the line

The 'Bonus' part of the credits dont count towards the 500 Loyalty... am i right to assume that the 'regular' part does? ie. 20SC normally applies but the 20SC + 20SC =40 double, does not?

many thanks

Now let's just be clear to not confuse people further.. You've correctly noted Loytlay Bonus SC's do not count towards P1.

DSC's still do count towards attaining P1.

Just to be clear on this point :)

Any SC earned by flying QF/JQ flights as per normal - irrespective of any bonus promotion, will apply to Loyalty Bonuses.

so.. yes.

Bonus SC whether by loyalty or DSC don’t count toward calculation for loyalty bonuses

So I believe you get 500SC from QF group airlines, you will be given another 500SC with the DSC offer plus only 1x 50SC as a loyalty bonus

Your frequent flyer Line transactions will look like:
SYD-xx_ xx_xx points. 500SC
Loyalty bonus 0 points. 50SC
Double SC. 0 points. 500SX

Total 1050 SC
