Double Status Credits on QF Operated Flights. Book 9/8/18-14/8/18 for travel 21/8/18 to 8/8/19

A friendly reminder suggestion to delay any bookings (I am also putting off registering too, but that's up to you) till after 10am AEST (0000 Zulu)... that has caused problems for punters in the past.

My back of the mind thoughts to see LHR have become front of mind thoughts.

Im thinking of doing a J run via PER on the way over with perhaps a trip to EDI.
Even factoring in a loyalty bonus the best i can come up with for this DSC promo is $6.55/sc. No idea if this is good value or not.

Also thinking if i should wait a few days to see if my expensive impulse booking desire passes. Although lets hope they dont change the rules half way through like last time.

I just received an email announcing the DSC offer. I tried the link out of interest and my registration went through and said I am registered and will receive a confirmation email shortly. It has now arrived.

Not true, they do count for P1 but not the bonii .

Are you sure? I have received a significant number of DSCs in the past 2 months (from the Feb DSC offer), and they are definitely NOT counting towards my P1 tally or loyalty bonus tally on my QFF account. Obviously QF is highly prone to IT glitches, so it could be that, but I’ve also read on here that DSCs no longer count towards P1.

Registered. Now to try and find a classic award for my partner to go with my paid for flight. That might be a bridge too far. As a WP what success have people had in asking for a classic J award seat to be released to go with a paid J seat? The holy grail of LHR in the last month of the promo next year.

I do too. But this time I’m booking a flight. The other way is inconsistently successful and I’m not risking it.

We did briefly discuss before he headed off to work. We're looking at close to a month in Greece. Points flights with CX to LHR, and much closer actually, available. We've got a few days to work this out.

Theres nothing in the terms to say it doesnt so I'd suggest you are being dudded.

Yes I’m starting to come to that conclusion myself. Unfortunately, there is some .... ahem .... ambiguity about whether these bookings should have earned DSCs in the first place, if you know what I mean! So I think it would be unwise to call QF about it.

On a more positive note, if DSCs are supposed to count towards P1, the new offer gives me a real opportunity to get there.

My reading of this is that the promotion period is 21 August 2018, through to 8th August 2019. I don't believe it can realistically be interpreted any other way unless the words "promotional period" have a different meaning to "promotion period".
