10,000 Bonus QFF Points for opening an IG Share trading account

I can't share it because it's all typed online through the FOS form. But it's all very straightforward. I referred to IG's promotion of 10k FF points for new customers who make a trade. I referred to email confirmation (and included that with the dispute) of my eligibility for the promotion. I referred to the email from IG a few weeks later (and included it) stating I needed to wait eight weeks. And I referred (and included) my email to IG of 10 or so days ago asking WTF is going on that has been ignored. Really quite brief and to the point.
What was the web address for this?

Trade placed 15 Jan, points in Qantas account 22 Jan 10,000 +25.

I put my QFF details in again on the day i traded using the link provided in this thread on page 1 - Join IG\'s Qantas Frequent Flyer Program - not sure if this has any bearing.

I hope it works out for you all

So I finally had enough of waiting for the bonus points and got them on the online chat. 8 weeks is up tomorrow so that’s enough for me.

I really don’t think they have much of an idea what they’re doing. After confirming all my details and that I had followed the correct link and was fully registered for the promo they tell me I haven’t made any trades. Umm check again guys. I made two and even received 25pts for one of them. :S

Told they would follow up about having the 10k credited so hopefully some resolution soon!

I too had been waiting about 8 weeks - I sent an email request, and got this response yesterday:

Thanks for your email.

Sorry for the delay on the Qantas point. The 10,000 Qantas FFP should be reflected in your account tomorrow morning. In case you can't see them by tomorrow afternoon, please be so kind to contact me.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us. Alternatively, please visit the IG Community where you can share ideas, knowledge and experience with other like-minded traders.

I've been told in the past couple of days that Qantas are unable to match my details with my IG account, hence they are unable to credit the points - which is absurd as both my IG account and Qantas account have the same name, address etc. I have provided them evidence of my Qantas account details to 'assist' whoever in Qantas or IG is having difficulty matching this up. Bordering on ridiculous now.

Yep this is a complete clusterf.... I signed up and made a trade on dec 7th, and then another on dec 8th. Took till 27th dec to get 2 x 25 points awarded (after a few calls and emails). In January I called a couple times re the 10k bonus points and each time got told something different (it’s been sent to the trading team, have to wait 8 weeks etc).

I called again last thurs (nearly 8 weeks since trade) and was told they would send the request to the share team for allocation of points on the Monday (when points runs are processed). Check QF account yesterday and see only a further 25 points awarded....wtf. Called again today and was told the share team were unable to tell if I had a QFF account prior to opening IG account hence could only allocate 25 points...again WTF. Placed on hold and lady comes back and says my account had an incorrect coding on it and hence the share team couldn’t allocate the bonus points. Apparently the issue has now been escalated to a team leader and I may see the point next Monday. Not holding my breath here.....

IG wont even respond to any of my emails.

I was told that I had not applied through the correct link. WTF, 50 points have posted for 2 trades. How else would I have applied. I never hear of them until I saw the offer somewhere on either the Qantas Website or Qantas Business Rewards. I'm giving them until next Friday then advising them I'm lodging a complaint with FOS etc

Hi Guys
I have just been onto the QANTAS POINTS website and printed out the offer setting out in the T & C's............. THE ONLY requirement to get the 10,000 points was " you can earn 10,000 Qantas points when you open an IG Share trading Account and start trading"....further on it says you get the points when "you open a trading account and place at least one trade.
It says NOTHING about using their link.
Can I suggest it would be prudent to access and print before it gets amended or taken down. They are telling me I did not use the link but the promo does not say one has to do that.
If they continue to refuse I will send them a copy and ask them to explain how I have not complied with THEIR OFFER etc
I don't see how I could have set up the account other than through the link. I'd never heard of them and given the hassle to get the points I don't really want to deal with them in the future either
I believe I have met those conditions so will see how I go. If they refuse after 10 days I'm going to FOS

iG markets do say you need to use the link:

I don't disagree but my point is "-
I saw it on the Qantas website
I had never heard of them before, I had no idea of their web address
How else could I have joined other than clicking through
I have been awarded 50 points for 2 trades so clearly they have my QFF details
They say there is no record of accessing the link
My argument is then they are engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct...They can't set out terms in one spot with an asterisk for T & C's saying join, make a trade and get 10,000 points and then rely on different conditions elsewhere. If the link had to be used ( which I believe I did ) then it should have been stated so everywhere IMHO
Why should I be penalised if their system has had a glitch and now have to argue over it ?
I'm not giving up

So, who is your argument with Qantas or IG? Are IG responsible for what is on the Qantas website?

Qantas are the promoter so one would/could assume they are all on the same page etc so someone is responsible they each can't point the bone at the other
I have been called today and the 10,000 points are posting

So I finally had enough of waiting for the bonus points and got them on the online chat. 8 weeks is up tomorrow so that’s enough for me.

Had a follow up chat session yesterday where I told them straight out if I didn’t receive the points by Monday I would be lodging a complaint with FOS. The usual excuses that we have heard on this thread such as it’s QF’s fault blah blah blah. No, it’s your promo and your T&Cs so YOU are responsible!

Seems the additional rev up may have worked. Bonus points plus the missing 25pts for my sell trade have appeared. Finally.

Update - my 10,000 points came through yesterday. Finally an end to this saga. Everyone else who is still waiting, it pays to be persistent with them

How can you be persistent when they wont even respond to emails?

I noticed quite a few comments about this problem on their Facebook site. They don't even respond there.
